New Octavia vRS Owner

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I own a silver 03 Octavia vRS with Black Leather. Great Car!!!

Sold my 03 WRX with ppp (261bhp) and brought the vRS (180bhp).

Is it me, or does that 3rd gear just keep pulling ? :thumbup:

Anyway, great car and website :cool:

Hello Wardie and Welcome to Biskoda,

its very very good to have another Octavia owner join the ranks,we're losing the battle with the Fabia vRS very rapidly,for all the right reasons i must add(Value for money/Performance/Quality)if i had less time on my interest free finance on the Octavia then the Fabia vRS would be next car!!!!!

3rd will go all the way to 100, so I've been told. ;)

3rd is 103 if I remember. 2nd is also good for around 70mph.

Mine does nearer 110, just as it hits the limiter.

not taken mine upto the limiter in any gear!

Does the vRS Estate have a different gearbox to the vRS Hatch? The vRS Hatch gearbox code is EFA.

109 is the limt in 3rd, 4th is even better at a round about 140 :D

what about 5th?

3rd is 103 if I remember. 2nd is also good for around 70mph.

Yep 3rd is good for a 100. Thanks for the keys on sat bro. :D:D:D

I seem to remember fifth seeing about 172 or something. May just be a Renault clio model number though :rolleyes:

ratios for the RS are as follows:

Gear ratios/mph per 000 for RS as follows:

1st = 3.3/6.2

2nd = 1.94/10.5

3rd = 1.31/15.6

4th = 1.03/19.8

5th = 0.84/24.3

Therefore max speed at 7k is

1st = 43

2nd = 74

3rd = 109

4th = 139

5th = 170.1

I hit an indicated 109/110 on the speedo in 3rd. Road Angel indicates 103mph (there is lag to allow for, so i guess its nearer 105mph)

have you got your car chipped up at all or is it still standard 180bhp?

  • Author

my car is standard at the moment.

you sooooo want to chip it, mine has been done and its awsome

Ill second that, my car turns me into a complete child with an inverted snobbery problem :D

yeah ive put my name down for the jabba group buy.

What sort of figures do you get running 220-230bhp?

0-60?

0-100?

speed through gears etc?

0-60 with a perfomance meter thing (uses accelerometers and gps) and a heavy passenger average 6.6. 0 -100 didnt do it.

Went up against a 04 leon cupra r in a stright line of a roundabout and it was a level run, nothing in it. so it would be about the same 0-100 as one of them.

:devil: ooh somone else with a speed prob. lol

i put my foot down and the car just slaps a stupid smile on my face especially when ****ing off little boy racers
