Castle Combe Summer Action Day! 11.09.10. our OWN TRACK session!

Featured Replies

I had an awesome day - thanks to Jason for organising it!

Yesterday was my first experience of track driving, and it took quite a while for the nerves to wear off but by the end of it I felt I was almost getting somewhere! It's definitely got me wanting more - and got me trying to figure out how I can tweak my car without the bank balance (or the wife's temper) breaking!

thanks for a great day! i had a great time on track now im safe at home ill tell you i had a lift off over steer moment on camp corner with about 6 cars behind me!! didnt do that again i had a small heart attack and slowed down for that corner after that, was great to meet some fellow skoda nuts all in all a fab day thanks everyone!

Top track session guys, only person I could fault was the evo caused me a few problems as he was clearly a faster car.

Who's was the silver 53 plate ocy estate? And do they realise there brake lights don't work? If I didn't know my braking points at coombe I would have ploughed in the back of it!!!

I have front and rear footage from the session and will up load to you tube when I can.

Thanks Jase!! Awesome time again. I dont know how i made it round last time without the rear ARB :giggle: I was very happy when the sun came out.

My mate has loads of pics of us and the drifters, and a video of the whole session from the stands. Will get them up ASAP.

Also does anyone know what the Golf GTi was running. Had plenty of poke on the straights, looked like uprated exhaust too.

Simon from Vagowners. To my knowledge it is "only" a remapped stage 1 TFSI, so probably 235bhp? I am not aware of extra mods. :)

Good day enjoyed the track action :)

Good to meet some of you too on the stand...

Cake, cake, he luuvvv the cake!

Thanks Jason once again.

That GTI was quite quick but i still got past him after a bit of a fight :p

After Quarry we were on his a** but on the straight up to Camp Corner and the back straight it was pulling away.

Yours Chris is mental!! Overtaking the Beamer whilst you were overtaking me. Lol. Good job though, yours isn't smoking as bad as the Spring day.

It took me a lap and a bit to reel in and pass the GTi. He was pulling away on the straights but I was able to out brake him into the corners mwahahahaha!! :giggle:

What did the guy say about your camera?? Looked pretty secure to me. That cost me precious seconds!!

It was a really technical question along the lines of "Can you give that camera a really good wiggle for me?"

The response after said wiggle was "You've done well with that one!"

I said (on the inside) "it is screwed to the fecking dash FFS!"

The GTi did go well, still managed to pass him on the first lap though by keeping my foot nailed even with a conservative 170bhp/270lbft :giggle: Thanks for filming the arse of my car Barrie, as you were following me most of the session!

This he was being cautious. Once he got settled it flew up the back straights. Was funny taking that right hander after the esses full throttle. B)
