Rugdoctor

Featured Replies

Today I rented a rugdoctor from b and q as my fabia vrs previous owners had a dog

And the seats were dirty and did smell of wet dog

Wow they are now brand spanking new and no more smell well worth it, don't bother with the antiform as the

Bloke at the store said, just used the upholstery cleaner

how much was it ?

Yeah would be interested to know the prices! Remember seeing the stand in my local one but forgot to grab a leaflet

Do you have pics?

I should have taken pics, but I was eager to attack the dirt, you should have seen the collection tank, it was full of silt and muck!

It was £19 to hire the machine for 24hrs, £24 if you want it for 2 days, take 2 bits of Id, theres a wider one too for a few pounds more but I was not cleaning carpets. The upholstery cleaner from there was £7, not cheap but it works brilliantly, you dont need the antifoam really, just dont go mad putting too much cleaner in. The hand tool has a nice long hose, and not so big that you cant get in all the crevices

The back of the front seats were especially trashed, people obviously putting their feet on them, I found the best technique was to soak the seats with the spray gun and then go over with it to vac the crud out, pressing the spray if the dirt was stubborn.

It will leave them wet, so dont do it if you need to use the car quickly, I just wacked on the heating and aircon and left it running on max for a while to help dry it, but im not needing the car for a few days.

After this I used it to clean my sofas where they looked a tad dirty on the arms, again bought them up nice and new.

This would have been ideal on my octavia vrs seats and interior carpet, especially when I spilt milk on them.

Hmmmmm! Good stuff.

Is there any sign of water marks where the seats have dried out?

Now you've done that, Go and get some Scotchguard upholstery protector!

With the rental of these rug doctors, what happens if you rent one on a bank holiday weekend? If i were to rent one on saturday would they charge me for the monday?

any ideas?

cheers

Id imagine it works as normal, seeing as they are open BHM too.

Scotchguard protector any good?

No water marks as far as i can see, i made sure the whole thing was soaking and didnt just do the dirty areas, also made sure it dried evenly.

Can i ask how much deposit did you pay, or you just paid for the number of days you want to rent it for

no deposit, just £19 for 24hrs or £24 for 48, theres a wider machine too if your doing carpets which is slightly more but the hand tools are the same.

you need 2 pieces of ID, i used a bill and driving license
