ESP - added as an extra to my SE...A question...

Featured Replies

You do need to press the Traction Control button in for a few seconds to engage/disengage it.

Presumably so you don't accidentally turn it off by just knocking the button.

When you say, "added to" do you mean you paid for it as an extra? My understanding is that ESP is part of the SE specification and SUK agreed with me on the telephone.

There fore there should be no charge for it over and above the SE model base price. When I get my car I'll be interested to =see if I can find it!

I paid to have ESP added as an extra on my 1.2SE but want to make sure that I actually have it! Is it the little button below my radio that has a picture of a car with a windy track coming away from the wheels?

I'm not sure you should have paid for it as an extra. I called SUK specifically to ask this point, and they agreed with my reading of the brochure that if you pay for an SE model, you get ESP included as part of the model spec. I don't have my car yet, but I do have my dealeer's priced up oder form reflecting this.

Hi there. In the brochure, at the back where 'extras' are listed for certain models, it clearly states that one of the extra options for the SE model is ESP priced at £390 (what I paid for it). I'm confused!!

Yes ESP was what I wanted on my SE and was going to pay extra but then I saw Park Assist came with ESP and front sensors. Worked out a really cheap way to get front sensors (which I was toying with). Took me several emails to various Skoda people to reassure myself ESP on Park Assist was on all the time and was the same as ESP - I know this soundsa bit daft but then you look at the acronyms in the brochure and it's as clear as mud!

ESP is only standard on the SE model if it's a 4x4 or DSG. A manual 1.2TSI or TDI 110 2wd would only have ASR.

TP

Thanks TP. My 1.2 order is for a DSG hence I didn't need to pay for ESP, but both my dealer and an earlier broker would have been happy to charge me the extra price had I not kicked up about it. I agree with earlier posters that it is and can be very confusing. SUK could do much better with clarifying these matters.
