Featured Replies

Hi there, Im just about to change cars and Ive decided to go for an Octavia Vrs, I currently run a modded 328 Bmw pushing out 241bhp.

Looking about ive seen various things people have bolted on and what bhp they claim to have. so i thought i should come to a place where people know!

What have you guys had done, what bhp did it give you and where did you get it done......

Thanking you.

Fatty.

Well , lots of different things can be done , depends on what you want ...

More power , several different tuners ie AMD , Jabba , Revo ,etc.........do a search .

Better brakes , lowered suspension ..........Briskoda sticker ;) .........again I can only advise on doing a search , reading the posts , and making your own mind up ...........which I'm sure you will anyway ......... :D

Thanks, Ive been looking on the net at different companies who do bits and bobs. and from what ive seen so far around

yellow is safer ;) people can see you coming.

2.5 k for 250 bhp,i spent about 700 ish for 221,i'm happy with that for now, inext on my list is suspension and anti roll bars,i think the brakes are pretty good ,but better is always good

the police only have the ecu remapped to something around 210-220bhp they dont change anything else.

i read that when the police tested the octavia vRS it recorded the shortest stopping distance from 70mph than any other car they tested/use. it also came back with less crosses on the test sheet than anythig else.

2.5k or fairly close to it can get you 300+bhp ;)

However there are many other things that will then be lacking.

For the money I'd go for and have done:

Chip to 210/220 about the limit for the turbo alone (limit debatable - endurance v performance)

Brakes 2500's + fluids (maybe discs but not really vital)

Pipe work - intake to exhaust backbox.

Clutch if anything is left over.

That will get you started and into the 230/40 marker with a good base to build upon. i.e. 1k on a k04 conversion or other things....

There are alot of options and some exciting products coming to market soon, very tempting 300+ on FWD only will be a handfull to say the least without anything else on the car to handle your exposure.

Hi Fatty, welcome..wish I'd thought of using your forum name

hello Fatty!

mine has recieved a superchip, dump valve and induction kit fitted. It also have a serious air box, my Bhp is 240. And not only does it go like the wind, it also sound awsome, hence the nick name of mrs Whiplash!

Superchips must of improved there code set to hit 240, they tend to play on the safe side as they offer a warranty on the engine* (or used to) so there improvemens whilst on diesels are very good on the petrols they used to hold back, it's still a good hike though :D

re your PM Raceylace, the one near Newquay if that helps. He was/is also a superchip dealer IIRC. Mine had a superchip but I swapped it out to the APR system for a multitude of reasons.

I recon mine must have had 240+bhp.

That was a JAbba Chip and Boost controller = 230bhp -

Hello and Welcome Fatty,

i went the route of Jabba and had the re-map and boost controller before i started to do anything else.

have since fitted a FMIC,Samco TIP,Full exhaust System(100cel CAT/Milltek Cat Back)

have fitted Neuspeed ARB F+R.

am going to be heading back to Jabba in the new year to have the re-map tweaked to take into account the other mods so should be hoping for 250bhp.

I had a look on that "Jabba" site, and there are some cool things on there. I especially like the stage threee turbo kit...... 350bhp COOOOOOL Lol looking at what they have to offer if you have the money a huge 400-500bhp is possible (wether the 1.8 litre lump could hack it is a different story)

so an email has been sent requesting what can i get for my budget, so i will have to see what comesback.

thanks guys.

On my home computer. I can mail you some tonight. PM me your Email address.

I think that the Jabba big turbo kit is still not ready and has a huge waiting list. Do a search on here.

Steve

Kits are ready but does require some mods for an Octy.....oh and your right about the waiting list.

I reckon you should get an SDI, I gather they are really nippy with the right mods :D

Even faster when the driver is driving as opposed to posing for the trackside photographers...

Oh, she'll be happy with that comment :D

Fatty

My 4x4 Octy (same lump as Vrs) has been to Jabba for a remap, Boost controller & dump valve. Also has Blue Flame Full system with sports cat, Allard Front Mount intercooler & the performance is more than adequate, Ive seen 160 on the clock & beat a BMW M3 on a straight French road on the Cannonball. Ive also uprated the suspension & Brakes but the 4x4 certainly needed it. The RS is better equipped than the 4x4 as standard & ColinD post makes perfect sense to me as to what to mod & I would agree 300+ horsies on FWD will be a handful although fun at the same time

stuart,i've been looking at an allard fmic for my octy(universal one)any recomendations?

i can't justify the 700+ notes for the forge one .

sorry to hijack fatty.pm if you like stuart ;)
