How come you miss the Vectra?

Glad I didn't buy this now, as I did prefer yellow at the time but I prefer black now lol.

very nice best colour ;)

p.s i wouldnt get uprated spark plugs there a complete and utter waist of money !!!!!!!!! i put denso ik22 in mine and they failed in 2 weeks i was then told by a big tuner that he uses standard plugs and has had them up to 500bhp lol

What engine was it?

was just a 1.8 mate started off totally standard orange light no colour coding etc:) i love my vRS will show it some love when back my hols in july:)

Nice car....tints seem to look really good on yellow octy's

Re the plugs, I have been running my custom remapped vRS on the same Denso IK20's for the last four years and have had no problems, I take them out every year and check them but they always come out looking like brand new and the air gap (0.8mm) has never altered (however my annual mileage is usually only 1.5K).

But (as others have said), the std plugs are very good but are intended for use on std cars.....and you may find you need to run a cooler plug on an uprated engine or run the risk of, at best damaging the plug's or worse, burning a hole in a piston, breaking a ring etc.

Bill.

When you come to alter the suspension, "DO NOT" fit Eibach springs as they do not make a fitment for the Mk1 Octy vRS.

Trust me, been there and tried that in the past, along with various other combinations, and ended up with KW3's, not cheap but great.

Also consider a Neuspeed 28mm rear ARB, they totally transform the Octy vRS.

i thought the ik22 was for a mapped car and the ik20 was standard car??????

the ones i had fitted the one on number 3 cylinder has completly broken down after 100 miles shocking and when posted this on another forum they all said dont use these plugs they are rubbish and standard plugs are fine until you go big big turbo as heat difference between a non mapped and remaped 180 is very minimal and will only req change 300 + where temps will be getting higher and higher.

i have been told that the ngks are the ones to go for if you really wanna put new plugs in

You could well be right about IK22's being the logical choice for a for a remapped engine

But TBH there's more to selecting the right plug than refrencing the max bhp output figure....for example the speed at which an engine is going to be operated at is a very important factor.

An engine running @ 6000rpm will have twice as many "burn cycles" within the same time frame as an engine running @ 3000rpm, and therefor the plug will run much hotter.

Perhaps this would explain why IK20's have been OK for me, as most of the time I drive very gentley (trying to conserve my V power) and just have the occasional bit of fun ;)

Bill.
