Anyone got week 20 build week?

Featured Replies

Following on from earlier post, the Dealers rang this morning to say my car had arrived & have arranged to pick it up on Thursday afternoon! It was week 20 build and last Tuesday I was told by the dealers it was on the dockside at Emden. I seem to have been lucky with shipping now can't wait! :p

Thankfully the car is now in this country. its shown on board the boat, which has now docked at sheerness. should be in my grubby paws by the early next week

Out of interest, where did you get the info that it was on the boat from? Was it from the dealer or Skoda UK.

I phoned skoda at about 9am, they said it was on the boat ad then called back at about 5 to be told it was at sheerness

Excellent, i will be on the blower to Skoda UK as soon as this posted. Wish me luck!!!

Advised that my pride and joy is in (not literally) the English Channel, having left EMDEN yesterday - Shearness bound. A quick bit of MARINETRAFFIC.COM action, and i deduce that it is on ISAR HIGHWAY - due to dock at midday.

COME ON YOU BEAUTY!!!!

They close at 5:30, phone them again at 5 and you might find it'll have landed

Now that my car has landed in dear old Blighty, how long realistically will i have to wait to get my mits on it?. I sent my Private plate retention papers to the dealer weeks ago.

What are the next chain of events?

Mine was wk 20 and arrived at the dealer today!!

Hopefully pick up at the weekend :) , but could be mon/tues :( all depends how quickly they can do whatever they have to do!!

I've been told that Withams should have the car by friday so I could possibly be looking at monday or tuesday. A larger dealer however might take a lot longer to turn the car around. I suppose it depends on how much you've been bugging your dealer and how fed up with you they are:rofl:

My week 20 build Race Blue vRS (anyone else got that colour? :D ) must've arrived on the City of Barcelona last Friday and has been sitting at the docks in North Shields since then. Spoke to the dealer yesterday and it will be ready to pick up on Tuesday 15th June. 11 and a half weeks from order to collection ain't bad.

Why isn't it Tuesday yet? :wait:

Just got a call from dealer as well my week 21 scout will be ready for collection next Thursday

My week 20 Scout arrived at the dealer today ... will be ready to collect by Monday, but sadly I'm away for the weekend so can't pick it up till Tuesday.

More likely to be arriving into Tyne tomorrow evening at 18:00 on Baltic Ace and then sent on to the dealer. I don't think they hold them that long at the UK ports?

Check this out 'Port of Tyne Shipping' Last ship to arrive from Emden into Tyne was the City of Sunderland on 2nd June, and the next one is Baltic Ace on 10th June at 18:00

Scrap that! Just had call from Dealer to let me know the car landed with them this morning and i can pick it up tomorrow

I had a Wk 22 build date and it is at the dealers today (saw it there with all the white stuff still on it). It was also next to a race blue hatch VRS so another lucky person will be getting theirs soon too (I am in Swansea).

:punch::finger::swear::heartbreak:

thats made me angry. A week 21 build thats taken longer to get to a dealer just 80 miles from the port than a week 22 build thats more like 300 miles from the port

I'm off to sulk:(

had confirmation from skoda dealer who is delivering my car on behalf of vag leasing that it will be delivered to my employer in newcastle

next friday , nice run home to scotland for a test !

So, would anyone care to speculate on how long it will be before my Scout, which was ordered from my local New Zealand dealer on Monday 7th June, is built? What's the likely shipping period after it has been built to it arriving in these far off shores? My dealer suggested delivery in September, but I get the impression that they have only the vaguest of ideas, so I'd appreciate the thoughts of those who've been through the process, of the timeline from here.

Incidentally, my dealer offered me a trade-in price on my Subaru, with the trade occurring when my Scout is delivered, but they gave me an alternative option of selling my car privately and if it should sell ahead of the delivery, they would loan me a vehicle to tide me over. Sod's law prevailed and I sold my Subaru in 2 days flat for absolutely top book price (35% above the trade offer), and now am technically car-less for about 3-4 months. That's left my dealer in a quandary because they didn't anticipate such a quick sale (me neither!) My dealer now proposes to sell me a temporary car with the proviso they will buy it back at the same price in 3 months time. Interesting arrangement, eh?
