Anyone got week 20 build week?

Featured Replies

My vRS is down for week 20 (week commencing 17th May) and I hope to see the car in a further 3-4 weeks. So roll on June!!!

My Octavia Elegance is being built the week commencing 17th May, with a forecast date of delivery to the dealer 28th May.

That sounds great, Adrian! 11 days is a brilliant transit time so here's hoping mine's the same.

Build week is this week so God only knows! :)

mines week 21, In a way I hope it'd be delayed by another week so I'd be 100% sure the bluetooth would work with my iphone

Build Week 22 sees Skoda build a Yeti 140 4x4 in Black Magic - on an order with MY NAME on it :)

If I allow two weeks for it to get to my dealer and be ready for uplift, will that be about right?

My Octavia Scout 2.0 TDI is build week 20 (17 May). The dealer looked at the system yesterday and said it was still showing as week 20 so shouldn't change now.

They said to expect delivery about 3 weeks later.

Mine: -

Week 13 build

Apr 2nd sign off

Apr 8th in transit

Apr 22nd with dealer

May 5th pickup

My VRS was built in week 16. Dealer said it was at Grimsby on Tues 4th May, but it has still not been delivered to dealer.....

Well ive just been to my dealer to hand in my documents so i can have my personal numberplate transferred to the car when it is first registered, and he said it was now down for week 19. By my reckoning that was the week just gone (week commencing 10th May) but the other guy at the dealership said that we are currently on week 18. So to summaries it was either built this week or is going to be built next week

week 19 is week commencing 10th may, mines week 21, 14th may

  • 3 weeks later...

My build week 20 vrs is in the dealers mid next week, 10 1/2 weeks after order, cant wait! Especially as I sold my car yesterday, fluked perfect timing!

Anyone got theirs yet?

Nope! From what i gather the 'City of Sunderland' ship goes to Gothenberg from Tyne full for Nissans on the 9th June, and will then collect Skoda/VW/Audi from Emden on its return to Tyne so im probably looking at week commencing 14th June for collection :(

i too am also awaiting delivery of my vrs cr tdi ordered end of feb have had conformation from vag leasing that it will be ready for collection on mon 14th june

the car will be delivered to my employer then but my boss told me the last cars had to be collected from durham.

My vRS was week 20 build & the dealers confirmed it was in the factory that week being built. They rang Tuesday this week to tell me it was at the port awaiting shipping. I ordered third week in March & have pretty much given up ever seeing it! I guess a ship may be available in a couple of weeks but not looking to take delivery much before the end of the World Cup. Golf is on 49,609 miles as of today & agreed to keep it under 50,000 miles; i'm getting to like my wife's Ibiza 1.2. Do you really need more than 3 cylinders?

you'll be lucky, getting the car from port to dealer, as well as getting it pdi'd in 2 days over a weekend.

unfortunately Skoda Uk don't seem to have a great attitude to letting the customers know about shipping. I've just had to call the shipping line to find out when the next sailing to sheerness will be. If my car misses that boat then it will not leave Emden until at least 17th June, breaking the Skoda port to dealer SLA by a good 5 days. Unfortunately they seem to think that this is the issue of the dealer rather than with them. Hopefully I won't need to know what the escaltion proceedures will be should they breach the SLA

Although I am not a week 20 build, I didn’t think you’d mind me posting the following:-

I ordered a Scout in the first half of MARCH and was advised of a scheduled wk 21 build. I received the joyous news that the car was born on the 25th MAY ( in wk 21 as advised it would be)

Patience has never been a virtue of mine ( particularly when it comes to getting new things – but lets face it, a new car is quite an exciting prospect).

Anyhow, having promised not to hassle the dealership - alas I broke my promise – Sorry to James.

I have now contacted SKODA UK, and it transpires that my poor baby has spent 11 days forlornly waiting on a quayside in EMDEN. THE POINT IS THIS……. Apparently only after 15days of waiting on a dockside will SKODA class it as a priority to get it shipped to UK. – So for me, no prospect of a surprise call to say – your car awaits.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder – and all good things come to those that wait…….

Doubtless there will be a few responses – announcing miraculously short build to delivery experiences. So please enlighten me with your cheerful tales of new car ownership. Pain is so close to pleasure!

For those interested here is what I am waiting for

SCOUT 2.0TDI PD ( I have a 130 pd engine in a Seat Leon – I love the character of it) – but will be considering chipping for more go…..providing character and economy are not adversely effected.

Aqua Blue

MFSW with BLUE TOOTH

ALCANTARA

ELECTRIC SEAT

CURTAIN AIRBAGS

COLUMBUS SAT NAV

XENONS

VARIABLE FLOOR

MDI

SPARE WHEEL

As a keen cyclist I will also be going for the internal cycle carrier ( although £215 is rather steep – but the bikes will be secure.

Same situation as me, same build dates even.

There is a ship in Emden now (SEINE HIGHWAY) which is due to arrive in sheerness at 1300 tomorrow (so will probably leave about 0000 or 0100 tomorrow) so hopefully our cars are on that. After this its down to the dealer to get their transport firm to pick the car up and get it to Surrey. Hopefully this means they can be in the dealers for wednesday and ready for collection ASAP if we've annoyed our dealers enough.

If they aren't on the boat, the next boat will leave on the 17th. If the cars on that I'll be looking for a discount. if it misses that one I'll be looking for a hefty discount

I maybe naive, but how do you go about getting a discount? I signed an order form and it indicated delivery at end of June /early July - so there would not be a breach of contract - i am just bored of waiting - I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!

Can I assume it is not the case for you, and yours is actually well-overdue.

Will there not be a further delay re registering with the DVLA?

My fingers are already crossed.

you would be getting compensation through the dealer for breach of their contract as they have failed to meet their SLA's

Unless you can prove so sort of loss for the extra wait I feel you will not get far with asking for a discount. If you are selling your old car and it will be worth a few hundred pounds less because it is a month older then you may be able get compensation for this. But just having to wait an extra week or so is not really costing you anything so hard to see there being much traction on a discount. Patience is a virtue!!!!!! but then as another saying goes 'if you do not ask then you will not get'.

Tomorrow is the big day! Arrived at my dealer last week. Tomorrow will be mine! :p

Thankfully the car is now in this country. its shown on board the boat, which has now docked at sheerness. should be in my grubby paws by the early next week
