Well I've driven both..diesels granted...and I think they are both great cars..serve different purpose in terms of load carrying capabilities yes, but the quality of both is equal IMHO....fantastic!

Whats better a MK1 Octavia or a Fabia?

Well a lovely as the old classic MK1 Octavia is I think its a little behind the Fabia in terms of comfort and practicallity.

However the A4 Octavia is indeed very good value for money now the prices have been dropped, especially the vRS estate.

But i think i'd save my pennies for a A5 Octavia next, 2.0 Elegance I think, very nice indeed. Unless the vRS TDi ever comes about.

I agree with Ross here. The Fabia is miles ahead of the Mk1 Octavia as there are a fair few developement years between them.

As for the last generation Octavia v the Fabia.
