 Another vote for Disklock here.

Silver, Yellow or Pimp-Daddy Chrome (just released lol)...

I've got a silver one and I'd never park anywhere remotely dodgy without it.

They're the best of all the steering wheel locks by a long way.

Oh, not sure if your local police force is doing it, but out here, they do them for half price!!!

I've got the silver one...erm...my car hasn't been stolen yet!

Is there a difference between them, other than cosmetic?

I can confirm this. He put it on when he came round to mine.

Rich... I thought you were a decent bloke too, until I found out you lived in the hood!

It was like south central la on his street!

;):D:thumbup:

If your a member of Costco you can get a DiskLok for approx

Yep, another vote for Yellow Disklok here (not that tasteful in a Black car, but it was a hold-over from my old cavalier :o).

Yep,

The good thing about the Disklock, is that the only effective attack methods are so noisy & time consuming that no thief is going to bother trying unless it's a seriously expensive car.

They'll just look for something easier to steal.

Yep,

Another vote for Disklok... Even though I had my Leon Cupra stolen with a yellow one fitted.... Even a Disklok is U/S when the thief has your KEYS!!!!

Have a silver one that is allways used...

Cheers

Vote for Disklok......

I put the key with my house keys which are seperate from the Octy keys....kills two birds with one stone: If thief nicks ya keys he/she can't drive off, and you never go out without a house key with you :D

As far as I have read these type of steering wheel locks are next to useless as most car thiefs can have them off in about 2 seconds flat.

Have you seen a DiskLok William?

This has been Thatcham tested by ex-professional car thieves....it's rated at more than 30 minutes...in fact, IIRC, Thatcham couldn't even get the Disklok off.

Most steering wheel locks only partially cover the steering wheel and are rigid in their connection. Disklok however full encloses the steering wheel plus it spins on the steering wheel.

HTH.

Perhaps I'll be a voice of dissent for once. I should say I have no experience of the disklock.

I have an Autolock 3000 (aka Halfrauds Security Shield) which is also Thatcham approved and folds down when not in use.

If you can wait until the end of the month What Car will be publishing the second part of their security test on the 29th where they let ex-thieves and Thatcham people loose on vrious devices. Also ties in with the New Year sales.

I realise that you probably don't want to want a month but thought I'd flag up the test.

I got a silver disklok a few years ago.

Only caveat is it can leave marks on leather steering wheels if fitted too tightly.

Parked wifes touran sport in manchester last sunday - both the car in front and behind had one fitted. Nuff said ?

Autoexpress rate is as their best buy - think they employ a "tame thief" to evaluate the gear.

Smudger bought 1 for me. Argos.

I used to use a disklok on my micra. Really good device, however, in hot weather it would stick to my steering wheel and rip chunks out of the leather when I took it off. For that reason, I no longer use it.

i took mine back and got a refund after 2 days, too bloody cumbersom, and rolled around in the boot.

cat 2 imobiliser is all the insurance require

to stop it rolling round in the boot, use some non-slip matting as a boot liner.

have used this for years - stops shopping bags sliding around too.
