Hello all

This is my second Octavia II. It is a LK 1.4 petrol 122BHP with DSG. My previous 1.9TDI DSG had one big problem - the noise from the tyres. When I got the new one (with snow tyres) the tyre noise seemed to have improved. But after changing to summer tyres (Dunlop SP Sport 01A - 225/45 17") the noise was worse than ever. i dont remember any of the 5-6 Octavias I tested at the dealer was this bad.

The only hope is that the dealer will offer replacements. Has anyone out there suggestions for more quiet tyres to replace the Dunlops?

Hiya.

If you go to any of the Autocar, Auto Express or Auto Bild (only if you speak German though [cos I don't know that either way, but do know you speak good English]), and search for tyre tests, at least one ofthem will have a tyre test that was done in the last year and includes road noise figures.

Dunlops are just generally cr@p though.

Job done. Quieter, more comfortable and grippier than the Dunlops.

There are plenty of aftermarket Noise killer kits available that would have a greater impact on overall noise than just changing the tyres imho.
