VRS rear Mud flaps?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

i am a newbie to octavia's and Briskoda! so.....just bought a 56 plate Octavia VRS TFSI......love the car......but it only has front mudflaps!

so i asked the dealer for a price for the rear mudflaps ...only to be told they do them because they don't fit the VRS bumper!!

is this correct...if so....are there any alternatives out there??

regards

The dealer is correct, there are no specific rear mudflaps for the VRS. However, with some hot water etc. the normal rear mudflaps can be made to fit. There was a guide on here on how to do it so have a search and I am sure you will find it.

The Skoda website currently says that vRS are supplied with rear mudflaps but not sure if that's the case as my car was delivered before the change to the website was made. There may therefore be specific vRS mudflaps for the rear but I haven't pursued it as my dealer fitted the normal ones for me - not that I asked them too. I'd ordered front ones but they thought it looked odd without rears so they put some on. They look ok but thet don't fit the profile of the bumper perfectly so there is a gap wheer muck can gather. Just needs a good hose out regularly.

Sarge.

Mine came as an ex demo direct from a Skoda dealer with the OEM rear mudflaps fitted. I believe you can fit them with a little bit of help from some heat. This photo just about shows them on the car.

You could park a train in that gap B)maybe just a slight over statement!

See here why they will never fit correctly.

Each to their own.......most mud flaps on cars dont fit 100% well not on the ones I have had previously. Yes there is a slight gap but I can live with it, and reduces the crap on the underside of the car

Probably been posted before but despite the message "Not suitable for VRS" from Skoda, rear mudflaps part number KEA600001 are a perfect fit for the FL VRS with no modifications, cutting, drilling, buckets of hot water, hairdyers or excessive force required. It took longer to remove the road wheel than fit the flap.

Near perfect, not 100% but you'd have to get down and dirty with them to notice. I didn't know they weren't available on the car until having owned it for about 6 months when I read it on here. I was pretty shocked as mine were already on from the dealer and they, in my eyes, fit.

I can 100% say that they would be a dirt trap.

Never had a problem with mine. Just my findings mind you. I've had comment from other Octavia drivers that I have far less gunk on my bumper under the back than them and that they would find them useful.

When I bought my current car in March 09 the dealer said they couldn't fit rear mudflaps, but gave me a set to try myself. Following the heat method I fitted them myself - I am the least technical person ever! They aren't perfect but do the job.

The dealer now fits them on request, indeed their showroom vRS has them. They are going to fit them on my new vRS due in September.

I think mudflaps finish the car off, keep the bottom cleaner and keep the front of my caravan cleaner too. Ideally to do the job properly they would be longer.
