An antidote to colour-coded grilles Pt 2 - the pictures

Featured Replies

I think it looks a bit strange because it's all on its own, not even the lower grill has similar colouring - if I saw that in the street I'd assume it was an undercoat for some other work. It does remind me of the new VRS+ models though, it would fit in well with their colour scheme.

You know what, it's work in progress.

But we'll all be wearing them tomorrow.

The worrying thing is, you're probably right! :D:thumbup:

Brimma ain't alone. Here's a link that takes you to a step-by-step guide to changing the grille colour on pre-FL cars. I suspect it's probably by a Briskodian, if so, make yourself known !!!

OK, the slant is on colour co-ordination, but obviously any colour choice is viable.

Anyway, I think it looks a million dollars, so-ooooo much better than the default / poundstretcher black grille.

Couldn't get this to link properly so some users may have to cut and paste the URL into your browser...

The first few images of the blue vRS look, errr, OK-ish. But the pics where the bottom grille is also colour coded looks a bit naff.

the ones wit hthe colour coded outer grilles look sweet as a nut

Havent read the whole thread, but have you thought about colour coding the wing mirrors?

What would be really cool (But very labour intensive) would be to mask off a pattern on the grille before painting or if you really want to get fast and spurious maybe write something on the grille :p... The red grille would work if there are a few other accents in red around the car too (Since the brake calipers can't be seen at the same time as the grille, they're not enough). Bright red would be a step too far for me, especially since my car is black already so the grille is colour coded as it is :)...

no, I just can't........................

Thats a lovely red, like a deep blood red pearl!! Photoshop?

Looks like a clone of the rear light cluster red.

Exactly, although it is in the pipeline for some track wheels ;)

So, let me get this right...........

red grille = chavvy

red wheels = best thing since sliced bread

........am I getting there ? :dull:

Not quite the best thing since sliced bread, and when did I say the grille looked chavvy?

I could go on and on, but at the end of the day the saxo didn't look ridiculous.

Apologies for misquoting

red grille = ridiculous

coloured wheels = magazine front cover material

I think that's better

Considering your grille does look ridiculous and my saxo had not one but 2 magazine front cover features because it was done right then I'd say your comment is pretty accurate. In my opinion, of course ;)

All it needs is a couple of Blood Red tear drops down on the bumper each side of the grill and no one will ever get in your way again - vampire motor get out of my way :giggle:

I've got a set of lower grilles coming so I can have a play

Red flames

That's the ticket

Where can you buy "Pimp My Saxo" and "Citroens Monthly" - I've not seen them in my local WH Smiths B)

Lidl stock em, in the car park after 8pm.

Same shelf as barryboys weekly which you obviously drew your influence from.

I think my life's working in reverse Nick - by the the time I get to 70 I'll be driving a big-bore exhaust wielding VTS with no suspension and orange wheels etc - I must have skipped that phase when I was younger :'(
