Few new bits to the VRS

Featured Replies

Well just came back from the body shop where it had the door handles, side strips and grill colour coded. Need the spoiler re-sprayed so have had that done and also got them to fit my LCR splitter. Also used up some of the 3m carbon vinyl I had left on the interior. Oh and fitted my Heko wind deflectors :)

Thanks! Tell me about it, its just screaming to be knocked down a couple of pegs, will order springs payday next week :)

Just going for springs or coilies? I went fo H&R springs and loved em ;)

Yeah just springs, Eibachs though as they seem like a good all round compromise and DPM have them up for £148 inc VAT which I think is pretty good really :)

How much did the paint set you back?

I am rather fond of the painted handles... Did they take them all off or paint them in situ?

The spoiler, side strips, handles, front grill and the fitting of the LCR splitter came to £200 all in. Unsure If they took the handles off or not though tbh with you just gave them the car, picked it up 3 days after :) Colour match etc is spot on though and the work is great :)

looking good, going to get my handles painted soon i think also, makes you wonder why they were black from std ! [obviously that was down to them saving cash.. emoticon-0114-dull.gif ]

Looks great mate. I really like those wind deflectors, really subtle. Nice job.

very nice

Thanks, most likely because of that yeah, it does seem so much better colour coded imo!

Thankyou

on the picture of the head unit, whats the hole for in the blank above it?

Really liking the colour coding  Tho I would've thought you may wanted the spoiler in black. (to match the splitter)

Headlights looks very subtle also, did you use lamin-x for that? the lighter shade im guessing.

It was originally for the cable for my bullet cam however I have now routed it up the a-pillar and across the headlining.

I did think about the spoiler being black however I am going to be getting the roof vinyl'd black in the next few weeks and thought it may be a bit much.

All i've done with the headlights is spray the chrome inserts satin black however I am considering the light smoke lamin-x film but haven't decided just yet :)

And thanks

How do the wind deflectors fit?

I ordered some genuine ones from Skoda the other day but they just stick to the outside of the door which i dont like the idea of, these look like they fit better..

Thanks

Kev

I thought all those bits you had painted were already colour coded on a VRS, mine are. What's a wind deflector?

They fit in the actual window channel. Much better idea imo than the external sticking ones. Only issue is that they supply two clips per window in order for the window to not automatically drop back down with the auto window function. I ended up using the two back clips in the front as well so I have 4 clips in the front and have eliminated the problem. If you type in fabia wind deflectors on ebay you should find you can get front and back for £35 inc postage and they are team heko ones

They wasnt on mine or many other VRS's that I have seen? Wind deflectors are whats sittiting across the top of my side windows deflecting wind from entering the cockpit whilst driving with the windows down :) Although I have them more for the cosmetic value

Mine are as std fitting, yes at the beginning they tend to trigger the dropping. After you fiddle with it a few times the clips becomes bedded in and its all good

Takes few mins to install, v easy. Makes A-pillar slightly bigger though..... :wonder:

Im returning my Skoda Genuine ones in favor for these then..

Skoda genuine ones come with sticky padded tape and you're supposed to just stick them to the outside of the door :-s weird..

Yeah I read that on here a while ago and I didn't like the idea of doing that in case I ever got fed up of them!

Do they cause more wind noise if the window is closed or open?

Hey, I really like what you have done with the carbon wrap in these 2 pics :)

I would like to do the same :)

How do you remove the two vertical "strips" either side on the centre console to wrap them? I have found 1 torx screw on the bottom left (under the fan/temp settings cover) but is it still attached at the top! Also don't know how to remove the right hand strip at all :(

Any help mucho appreciated

ty, Ben.
