Milltek or Scorpion

Featured Replies

What is te general consensus when it comes to exhausts for the vRS?

I had been looking at the Scorpion cat back, but could be tempted by a used Milltek I've found.

I was considering the Blueflame, but not too keen on the tailpipe design.

Any comments from people that have or have used either?

I think the Milltek is a popular choice

i have a miltek non resonated cat bk fitted and its excellent the fit is spot on the sound is good, louder than standard but not loud enough to be a boy racer :giggle: no droning on long journey's either

The Milltek and Blueflame are both quite good for giving performance gains without much noise, the two cars I've been in with BF exhausts didn't sound any louder than a standard exhaust (from inside the car anyway).

You won't get much from a cat-back, just a bit of noise and a few extra horsepower, you'd want a full system for any real power gain as the main restriction is the downpipe off the turbo and the standard cat.

I have the miltek turbo back and its a great exhaust i would recommend it any day.

agreed, i recently brought a de-cat downpipe but could'nt find a nice mot man :giggle: so had a 200 cel sports cat fitted into it and altough quieter than the de-cat it still sounds better than just the cat bk and performance wise u could tell the difference and doin it this way saved me £200 on what the miltek downpipe n sports cat would have cost

Have to aggree Milltek seems to be the preferd

My fella has the Jetex one to his car

All good quality ones

just to throw another option into the works, i have a piper Turbo back on mine and love it

I went for a custom powerflow system. That way you can choose sound, tail pipe design etc. Had mine on for a oouple of months now and well pleased.

Also not as pricey as the other options

I have a Milltek resonated Turbo back on mine and like others have said,it's not that loud compared to the standard.

You can have a demo if your free this Saturday or 5th June (RR day on) and can meet me @ Awesome Gti.

Just checked with the diary and I'm pleased to say I'll be there!

Had I best bring my wallet do we think?!!!

Had a Scorpion on a clio williams and it was very good. They even made me a custom centre bracket so it sat better but it was noisey. I would go with the miltek as you have the option of a resonated box.

the non resonated is'nt loud as a cat back system and cant imagine it being much louder from the turbo bk. my non resonated cat back was'nt much louder than standard just a deeper burble and a touch louder when accelerating. will try n get a vid tommorrow

in the mean time i happened across this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Skoda-Octavia-VRS-1-8T-Milltek-Sports-exhaust-/270579528576?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3effcbf380

Damn thats about 5 minutes from where I work.

Shame its only cat-back though, I'd want the whole system with a sports cat :(

Miltec make two exhausts for the MK1 vRS......one is 2.5" dia and is a good replacement for the std OEM exhaust and for cars with limited mods.

The other is a 2.75" exhaust, it costs more than the smaller item but IMO it's worth it if you plan to mod your car further.

I've got a 2.75" turbo back system on mine and I'm really pleased with it, the build quality and fit is excellent.....and the sound it makes is awesome

Ye I have the smaller one which has the oval tailpipe the bigger one being twin round. At the time I replaced mine I couldn't justify spending a grand on the bigger system

as it was only available as a turbo bk system, but is now available as a cat bk system. But agreed the build quality is superb and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking

Me too. Love mine :)

Go on.... You know you want it :) Can always get the downpipe at a later date :)

If i didn't get the whole lot at once and get it fitted it'd end up being another thing like the R32 steering rack that sits in the garage gathering dust for a year :dull:
