Hi Carl sorry to hijack this thread but on the subject of rolling roads out of interest do you use some one round here, I live in Canterbury and want to get my Octavia 2.0ltr Pd 140 mapped.

I use JKM mate. Yes it's 2 hours away but it's worth it just to know that the result I get is accurate.

Surrey RR Is a bit closer in Guildford. I personally have never used them but others I know have say they a good setup.

I just prefer JKM due to being renowned as once of the most accurate in the UK and having had all my work done there I have a trail of RR graphs all on the same Dyno by the same Operator which gives me an accurate representation of any power gains at each stage.

There is a dyno at SVA in Dover, they specialize in Jap imports and I can't advise on the accurracy and there is also one in Rochester, I think they are called impossible Performance, I'm sure they have been included in an RR day on here.

........and we're still waiting for that printout :-)

He's refering to carbs.

Wouldn't recommend them then? :giggle:

Impossible Performance where pretty bang on with the results the last time we had a Brisky meet there.

Obviously everyone is assuming he is talking about a TFSI engine and not TSI :giggle:

It is the spanking new TSI engine, cheers, also has a ITG filter which i forgot to mention.

And on BP ultimate from new, if that makes any difference

id guessed TSI straight away anyway lol. but as you can see even the TSI isnt far off the TFSI std and remapped. however torque is much better than the TFSI and there is alot more area under the curve.

the panel filter will the make very little difference, however if you had an ITG like this then id be happy.

If i had it i would love to, we stay in scotland and were over in N Ireland visiting the inlaws when the remap was done, think the missus has binned the dyno printout along with out boat tickets etc upon return so needless to say im not a happy bunny, hopefully getting the video file emailed to me so will let you know.

See you have removed your plastic stuff from the engine, does that make any difference lol

Do you get a kind of blowing grumbly noise from under the front at about 2.5k rpm, just checking its normal as don't remember it off my old tfsi one.

plastic stuff??? the only thing removed from there is the std airbox and the standard PCV.. what plastic stuff are we taliking of here

how would you have described your power and torque curves was there a spike of power as that could explain the large peak power figure.

They were nice and smooth, the guy spent all day tweeking the remap to ensure it, he went out on a good few runs and came back and fiddled again until he was happy, the plastic i was meaning was the big plastic engine cover thing with TSI written on it, was only joking about it making a difference lol

Have seen it twice now while there and your right its a cracker, you should hear the noise it makes, think i would even swap my VRS for lol although would not fancie buying tyres for it.

Did Torquetronics remove the ecu from the car to remap it?

colleague had his audi 2.0 tdi remapped there - they plugged a laptop/cable into the socket down in front of drivers rt knee region, reprogrammed the ecu via here. he said nothing was removed to be flashed, took around 90 mins and he had a test drive to make sure it pulled cleanly in each gear before parting with his cash.

they would only need to remove it if it is one of the newer encrypted ECU's normaly in 2010+ cars. if its pre 2010, they can easiy remap via the OBD port
