I wouldn't say the pipe work is a mile out, but with the strut brace and the n249 & n112 stuff still there (due to the blanking plate not turning up), space was a bit short.

After reading other post I'm now gutted to find out this thing is going to be a pile of dog mess. The kit was for the octy.

Begining to wish I'd gone down the forge route, well best go to work & make some coin for the possibility of buying a new core.

I'm interested in a DIY install of the FMIC, thus found one by this code - 8K0 145 805 G - from Audi A4 B8 (new), or its replacement from Hella coded 8ML 376 746-191.

Both are cheaper than those from eBay while being original i.e. with better quality core compared vs chinese noname products.

The question is to buy the suitable piping. Universal kits won't do 'cause most of them lack beading and are hard to fit exactly to Octavia's engine bay - they are designed mostly for Golf IV's.

Maybe some of you folks know for sure which details should I order and in which quantity?

Found somewhere on the net the set of piping for Audi S3:

1x 2.5->2.0 inch 90 degrees

3x 2.5 inch 45 degrees

2x 2.5 inch 0 degrees

1x 2.5 inch 90 degrees

but the man who did the install had the 180 degrees turned intake manifold.

That sounds like a lot of work, I'm not familiar with the audi engine bay so can't offer any help. But if you have an engineering company near you, maybe worth having a crack with them to see if they could put a bead of some sort at end of pipes to stop joints coming apart.
