Featured Replies

Does anybody have one of these? My link

Just wondering if they're anygood as don't wanna spend a fortune for a forge one.

Do a search on here for "ebay intercooler" there are loads of threads.

General consensus is they're good value for money.

Has it been run on a rolling road? Would love to see one against a forge one to see the difference.

Is the only thing that's stopping me, that and swmbo.

Well after 11 hours yesterday the intercooler is on. Well kinda, 1 joint was missing so its got gaffa tape until i can get a silicone replacement. Not impressed with the pipe work on the turbo to fmic side. I will get a photo on when i get home as i will need help as i want to use standard air box but not a chance at moment.

I've just ordered one and first impressions look good. on the pic in there add, theres no holes on the top of the core to mount it anywhere. However mine has come with them welded on top and iunderneath. So all i need do is get a strip of sheet metal and bend it.

Apart from the pipe work mine was fine. It came with a few different brackets for the core,I bolted it to front bumper support bar thingy and jobs a good en.

Could you upload some piccys of how you mounted it too, I've got the brackets but not sure how they go. Cheers fella. Im mounting mine next week so i'll try to get some pics up for people and let you know how it goes

Looking good there :)

please post back on what difference you notice on the road

one thing though...I would add some rubber washers to the brackets to damp the vibes out a bit perhaps?

At the moment its poo, due to it not having a map at the moment (soon will have though).

Honestly I cant say, I dont want to give it to much stick as I'm not sure how long its going to take to get the silicone pipes. Also the gaffa tape might not hold and the make shift bodge joints could be leaking. Going to get in touch with a local fabricator in morning to have a crack about modding the pipe work and to relocate dv to throttle body.

did you buy the specific octy kit?

take it the pipework just doesnt fit?

its a cheap chinese one i bet and the core is tiny i suspect if you do some temp logs on vag come its effeciency is prob worse than the oem side mount :giggle:

Like mine :)

nothing wrong with chinese stuff, they make great food :giggle:

lol they also know how to put a cheap core together thats never seen a flow bench or flow charts in its life lol

you may think the front mount is the way to go on these but unless you buy a good one its pointless just do some logs with that cheap one on and do the same logs with the oem one and you will be shocked it will prove that cheap one is cheap for a reason lol it dont work

to be fair, isnt the toyosport fmic one that has been logged and was meant to be pretty good, am sure i read that on here from another member

I'll so that when I plumb mine in. Hopefully this weekend.

Stupid question - what to log to give meaningful results?

:)

which one you go for rob? the same toyosports one?

No a cheapy one shipped from China.

Having to modify the pipework as it doesn't fit behind the Xenons.

I can always change the core later for a better one once I have the pipework done.
