REVO - Thoughts?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just got a octavia RS and looking for more power. What do people recommend? i'd quite like to have an undetectable ecu remap as doen by Revo technik and the idea of the SPS device to change maps sounds spot on to me. Any one got any comments about revo or have a revo remap already? ideally i'd like 210bhp with more torque. any better alternatives

Thanks in advance

an undetectable ecu remap

All ECU remaps are detectable, one way or another... :)

Rob.

As above. No such thing as a undetectable remap. All remaps leave traces.

All maps are much of a muchness but if your main criteria is switchability then REVO/APR and DMS do switchable maps.

As my learned Brethren have said above...all maps are detectable. :(

geography is much more of a factor... who are you close to?

best to go to a known tuner in your area... then if you do have problems you can pop back quickly...

i'm REVO'D can't fault it really,221 bhp 257 lbs ft of torque, this is with the 4 bar fuel pressure regulator (30 quid from euro car parts).

iirc revo are bring out a much more simplified sps3 unit ,not sure its available in the uk yet though.

I am going the Jabba route fitted with a boost controller, i looked into Revo but didn't like the idea of having to lift the bonnet everytime i wanted to change settings. Though i guess the slealth part is nice, but as said, it is still detectable.

and why would you need to lift the bonnet to change it?my odb port is in the litle cubby hole under the steering wheel

personally i find the apr solution best... combined with cruise it is by far the slickest multimap solution + the added benefits of security lockout and optional v tune!

OOOPs sorry, for some reason i thought it was under the bonnet! :o

What's the price of package, Paul?

not sure exactly Denis...

Star or Awesome would advise

the main remap package is from about 499... vtune is free cruise is approx 200 on top if you havent already got it...

feel free to correct me if im too high / low...

huck may remember he has had it done more recently than me... and pretty sure colind will swear by it too... dead easy to use.. (unless you lose the intructions and are forgetful aye colin!

So only:

for absolutely everything yes...

Wonder what a stock Audi 210 TT map would cost?

So only:

TT map is

That little lot makes Revo look cheap (I never thought I'd be saying that!).

"Expensive" it may be.

But it would still be the only other option for me if i was re-mapping another suitable car.

You know the other name on my list. ;)[/quote']Yes, APR certainly has a very high satisfaction with our members who can afford to go that route. Meanwhile a Jabba remap combined with their variable boost controller offers a lot for the money. And to add balance, members who have gone the REVO route appear to be pleased too.

I think you'll find Revo are about the same price when you add their options up aswell - its very rare that someone has every option!

The most popular APR software is simply the remap costing a total inc vat of

so the only thin we all agree on is that those who went superchips... wish they had gone to anyone else?

i'd say that was about the same :)

Note the APR mode takes into functionality factory fit cruise to swap programs, i wasnt aware that REVO could use the cruise to change functions? you need to use that plugin box thing?

Very true, you do need the switch box which is no where near as 'neat' a solution as APR's use of the cruise stalk but if you have no requirement for cruise, Revo comes in
