Can get a turbo off a 2 year old golf tdi 140 bhp engine code BKP for peanuts

Its a garrett gt1749va... should it fit okay to my VRS (I know it will need to be reclocked to fit)? I know others have gt1749va's fitted but not sure if they vary between engine codes in terms of manifolds etc.

Any ideas?

I'm sure the Garrett 1749va was fitted to the later Fabias cos the KKK's tend to eat shafts (like mine did 2 weeks ago) The manifold should be the same but as you said it will need clocked. I went for the PD150 turbo which is great.

Is clocking easy on these? i'm not very mechanical... as long it should be an easy job for whichever garage i take it to (in the case of mine exploding) then i'm happy!

2 year old golf would be a 2.0 TDi? If so its a 16v and would need some modding to get it to mate to a 8V fabia lump. Easier to just get the 150. And all fabia`s even the last come with kkk turbos.

Hmm just an idea, but can the manifold off the kkk currently fitted be removed and bolted onto the garrett? Its apparently just held on by 4 bolts

Nope, the KKK Turbo was used even on the run out special editions. Also never heard of KKK Turbos tending to eat shafts. They have failures as all makes of Turbos do, but tending to eat shafts sure as hell isn't a known problem. I do wish people would refrain from BS information and get their bloody facts straight.

Calm down there dude, don't be geting your knickers in a twist. So i may be mistaken about the garrett's being used on the fabia's but not all of us can know everyting about fabia's like you obviously do. All i'm saying is that from what i've heard/ read on this forum that the kkk turbos can snap the shafts and/or the vanes can disintigrate.

I may not be the wealth of all knowledge, but we can't all be right all the time and there's need to get angry over it!!

Plus clocking is pretty easy to do, just do it before the turbo is bolted to the engine because its easier.

Knickers in a twist, me, impossible OK sorry dude, caught me in a bad mood. I just hate to see the various Furby bits being quoted as having severe quality issues. If you look at the number of VAG cars running the PD130 KKK Turbo, the failure rate is low.

Ive saw a kkk go boooom!! Was running a bad bad map was spectacular!! Its how you warm them and cool them and giving them a blast now and again!! The ccv mod and egr delete helps no end!! Im running clean cool boost :8

Aherm So does anyone know if the kkk manifold can be removed and used with the garrett? Am assuming no but its worth asking
