Disappointed

Featured Replies

I just collected my first Skoda Octavia VRS and took it out for a drive and ended up having to use Skoda (RAC) assistance.

When taking a left hand bend I got a noise and feeling like one of the wheels was catching something, RAC seem to think it is to do with the alignment adjustment carried out today by the dealer before I got the car. Plus I have got a raspy noise when accelerating betweeen 2-3000 rpm sounds awful like something is loose.

Back to the dealer in the morning :(

Ah there's nothin worse mate, I got 12 miles out of mine before the engine management light came on emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif makes you wonder what they actually do during a PDI emoticon-0124-worried.gif

Couldn't have put it better myself

shocking take it back and go mad

got to be worth at the very least a service thrown in and a full tank of juice

I got nothing but a humble apology - cause of my engine management light, the guy doin the PDI forgot to put the dipstick back in causing loss of oil pressure :dull:

How much do these guys charge for labour??

Thanks banksie,

That sounds like the same issue, sounds like a bag of crap!

it will need more than an apology to appease me now!

Been to the dealer twice today and now have left the car there, they want it for 2-3 days?????

Also found the wheel alignment done by the dealer (local tyre shop) was way out and there was no locking wheel nut, jack or wrench left in the car.

I hope the car is worth all of this hassle when I eventually get it back.

who is the dealer

Not sure if I should name and shame before giving them a chance to sort the issues??????

Dealer has had the car for 24 hours now so gave a call to get an update. I was told with suspension there was nothing obvious to report, even though they had it on the ramp yesterday and came to that conclusion.

The technician can't hear the turbo related noise even though his boss heard it when I showed him.

I'm getting frustrated now, sorry for the rant.

Name & Shame the dealer please. emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Reject the car as not fit for purpose as they can not identify and rectify the problems that the dealer heard.

Get it in writing first that they heard the issue though ;)

I have decided to give them until tomorrow to sort out the issues.

Turns out that as there is no spare wheel it does not come with a jack, I was hoping to enjoy the car on my Birthday but the sheen has been taken off it now. If it is not fixed I will reject the car (just tried to inforrm the finance company of the issues but are closed, so will do it tomorrow) and will name and shame but am trying to be as fair as I can.

You need to involve the finance company as they are jointly liable. Was the car new or used?

Car was used (ex demo) will call the finance company and put my compliant in writing. Hopefully it will be fixed but will contact them anyway in case problems reoccur.

I think you might need to deal with the finance as they own the car, you would need to reject it from them. Given the issues, even on an ex demo, sounds like its been ragged and prolly kit a kerb or something.

Yes it is the finance company who need to sort it further to the supply of goods and services (implied terms) act. I unfortunately have experience of this with a previous BMW.

Agree sounds like it has hit something but turbo noise seems to be a common discussion point.

Tomorrow may bring better news.

Dealer claims rasp noise is normal, they have drivien a VRS (heading fo the police) which has just been delivered and it does the same.

They will sort out locking wheel nuts tomorrow also.

The noise whilst cornering they believe is a gearbox mount, so have ordered one for tomorrow and should be back on the road in the afternoon.
