Lutenertic's Octavia VRS + RS

Featured Replies

I purchaced this Octavis VRS only last Friday, as we needed a car that was more family orientated, which is also quick. Our previous run around was a MK3 Vauxhall Astra GSI, but became impractical now my Wife and I have 2 children.

I spotted this completely standard car on Pistonheads which was only 15 miles away so took a trip out. It has covered 98k miles and has a full service history. I checked the buying guide on Briskoda  , and everything on the car was perfect. So I left a deposit and picked it up a week later. I managed to knock the seller down a bit, as the paintwork was a little flat and covered in fine scratches, but I spent Saturday morning washing, claying, machine polishing and waxing, and it now looks as good as new :)

My other car is more of hobby and have owned it for about 4 years now, it's a Ford Escort series one RS turbo, for those who are interested I will post a coupl of pictures below.

Thanks for looking...

I'm afraid not, I haven't been out in the RS much recently.

very nice, same as mine, except mine isn't as clean as yours right now.

 We also needed a family car, but it didn't need to be quick, i just can't bear the thought of not driving a quick car

Had mine for about a month now and am really pleased with it, but keep being tempted by various upgrades which is real risk when reading this forum. Good luck

very nice mate, really need to get someone to give my VRS a good polish.

Strang but true, mine is also silver and has the same start to the reg LF, I wonder if it was the same dealer from new.

Both look really great.

LF indicates it was first registered in the London region, at the Wimbledon DVLA office. Suppose it could have been the same original dealer...

I'm proudly sporting west country letters on my plate!

Loving the series 1 RS Turbo!!!!

Old school Fords take some beating!!!!

My neighbour had a series 1 with a bored out 1.9cvh lump, went like stink!!!

Steve :)

Very nice car, best colour :thumbup: . I

ve been thinking about investing in a polisher, how long did it take approx' to do the whole car (polishing).

Like the escort a lot! very nice! Octy looks well too! :D

It took a good couple of days to clean :S and lots of patience

Nice, i had an RS turbo (series 2) on an 'H' plate. Loved it till i had an argument with a bus which wrote it off!, reminds me alot of the vRS. In fact, i think the vRS is just a more modern, more reliable RST!

Like the long shutter shots at night, very cool. You're reminding me I should get my camera out again at some point!

Both cars look brilliant, would love a 90-spec XR3i in my dream garage.

S2 turbo is on my short list for my next car. Give me old school over modern any day
