Remapped but can't believe it!

Featured Replies

I got my car mapped today by jabbasport which i got through a group buy on here so a big thankyou to all those involved in arranging the group buys. Anyway michael put my car on the rollers to start with and got a reading of 144 bhp thats with green cotton filter and the seat intake pipe mod. He then set on with the mapping as i watched trisha and Shaft on dvd. michael later came back with a smile on his face and said i don't believe it but your cars peaking at 196.8 bhp he then said he thinks that the intake pipe makes a big improvement as normally he can only get the fabia's to 1.3 bar boost before the turbo starts to squeel but mine went up to 1.5 bar boost which he reckons the intake pipe allows more air in thus more boost. He then said he was backing the fuel off a little as the clutch was juddering slightly too much so off he went and later came back with a figure of 195 bhp exactly which i had no arguaments with. michael was so impressed he's thinking of keeping the pipes on the shelf down at jabba. I parted with my cash and then set off home but the journey was not so good as the traffic was bumper to bumper so couldn't really get the cars full potential. But i have plenty of time to find out what it can do.

A big thankyou and much recommendation goes to Jabbasport for their brilliant work.

here are the two graphs i got

 Big  to jabba there.... Damnit, I'm gonna have to go back now myself to see what they can squeeze out of mine with the PD160 intake on... *sigh. :D

I think I'm right in saying 195 is the highest vRS Fabia from Jabba to date... Although I think Jon's friend got a bit more out of a PD130. ;)

Very good indeed!

There is a chap on here with over 200 bhp from a Jabba'd car, but hes swapped to a PD150 turbo.

top notch results mate..

Another happy bunny then :)

Go find yourself a nice empty bit of road ;)

You have left your registration number on those plots

Just out of interest Paul whats your engine code?

V. impressive result, you must be pleased.

By the title I thought it was going to be something bad :)

Top result!

Looks like a nice smooth power delivery aswell.

That seat pipe makes a big difference.Mone was the first that Mike did and was sceptical to say the least at first. But was pleasently surprised! Now its happened again on a vrs..... Whos going to be the first to break the 200bhp barrier by just mapping and minor tweaks....... Interestingly be doing my cool runnings I have a approx 50% increase in bhp so on a vrs that should mean 210bhp.....

Looks like I will be getting a SEAT Cupra intake pipe soon then. :D

Wonder if better airflow to the intercooler, green panel plus Seat inlet pipe would get the Fabia vrs over the "magic" 200 mark?

That power curve is very smooth :)

Good results mate

see.. for all those non-belivers i TOLD YOU there was a improvement :D

(this and other resonably priced mods brought to the fabia community courtesy of Neo_VR modding group)

Next week: pikey intercooler airflow mods ;)

On the papers from Jabba it says that the atsmosphere pressure was 9xx mbar. Is it normal, that the pressure is below 1000 mbar in England? In Denmark that happens only app. twice a year.

Yes.

15 years or so back we used to get the pressure shown on weather forecasts on TV before they were all computer generated , and it was reasonably common to see low pressure centres below 1 bar

Landberg: yes pressure in the range 980 - 1020 mBar is normal in England (Atlantic depressions coming across and filling up by the time they reach you). And we don't get such extremes of temperature as you do.

The registration number on those plots is actually wrong. I'll get you the engine number ross

Impressive stuff!

The pipe makes a difference. Mine was smoking like a trooper after the remap until i fitted the cupre air intake that is!

Maybe I'll take mine in for a tweak in the new year. :)

Confirmation,

Did you get approx 195 bhp from pd100 or vrs pd130 engine?

Cheers

John

PD130. It's a Fabia vRS :)

Must be a restrictive exhaust on them there Furbies, I have heard of more than 200 in a slightly bigger Skoda.

Oh how I wish I had a turbo on mine ;)

:D

Not like a std Fabia vrs doesn't have ground clearance for a big exhaust :D

have to wait till Jan 14th to see if mine will reach that figure, I'd be happy with anything over 180bhp! Would have had it done last week but I got stuck in traffic and lost my slot D'oh so maybe it could have been me with the glory

Mike,

if you had a morning slot best to leave early or else you'll get caught on the A1 or M25 (if you need to travel on it).

I always leave around 6:30-6:45am to get there for around 8:30am....from Basingstoke.
