I'm prob wrong.. but if this was "ok" with insurers the n nooooooo one would ever declare??

If it's something you can demonstrate you were reasonably un-aware of*, or is a genuine accidental omission that would not materially affect the risk to the insurer, the FSA state that the insurer cannot void the policy. This ruling/policy came about to stop the insurance companies voiding the policies of those who made genuinely accidental omissions (e.g. genuinely forgetting to state that they had their windscreen repaired 4 yrs 11 months ago).

Obviously, you must declare everything that you are aware of - the above is only for genuinely accidental/unavoidable omissions...

* i.e. it is reasonable that you were not aware of it, not that you were 50% unaware of it ;)

You know how the ECU logs things that are connected to it that aint VAG official.. like a maping computer.. does it date stamp as well.. so you could prove that it was done before you took ownership?
