on mine after 10 secs i had to turn the knob to the right..

None of these methods are working on my car :S

I tried last year after it was serviced and had no luck back then either. I have tried every possible combination that people have suggested. Anyone got any ideas as to why it won't reset?

mines a 56 blt engine..i held the trip reset button in...turned ignition on and held for 10 secs then whilst the button was still depressed turned it to the right and the spanner goes away...

Mine is showing a clean screen - just how it should be, so there is no spanner showing on mine at all. I'm wondering if it needs the spanner to be showing to be able to reset it manually?

It has never once shown a warning for any type of service, so this is where I am puzzled.

IIRC there are 2 methods stated in the manual. Dependant on whether or not the vehicle has variable service times. I'll take a look when I get home (if I remember). But the method where by you turn the reset knob worked on my SE.

Yeh, I have tried all methods suggested. I'm not getting the ------ displayed after 10 seconds.

I'm beginning to think its due to me not having any warnings on the dash to start with.

wud think the inspection warning needs to activate before it cud be reset..

Try out attachment !!

Good luck.

Just done this on mine....wee buns. Thanks for that

Have you got any good ideas on how to get it to come on then? It wont illuminate after 10 thousand miles whatsoever, so I was trying the manual reset before I take a trip to the garage.

No guarantee when warnings will appear, mine varies between 10,000 - 11,000 miles.

Warnings cannot be produced at will, to my understanding.

Tendency to do my servicing myself each year having only covered some 6,000 miles yearly.

So warnings are ignored and cancelled upon appearing.

Well my warning comes on about three hundred miles before due, either INSPECTION, or OIL

Yours will only come on 10,000 miles after the reset has been applied, therefore if you were playing with the reset (or previous owner/garage) then

it will not come on until 10.000 further miles

If that is the case Go by the speedo for your service

Well my Spanner Warning came on at 39,300 miles, I did an oil & filter change, went through the described procedure and I cannot get rid of the Spanner symbol.

I have gone through the same procedure 6 times, it now shows the Spanner followed by the word 'Miles' and will still not reset.

Any ideas.

The PDF version of the manual I have gives a different procedure to that stated on the RDF attachment above:

It is also possible for you to reset the Service Interval Display with the reset button as follows:

• Press the reset button with the ignition switched off and and hold it down.

• Switch the ignition on, release the reset button and and [sic] turn the reset button to the right. All counters will be reset to 0.

It is only possible to reset the Service Interval Display, if a service message or at least a pre-warning is shown on the display of the instrument cluster.

However my 2004vRS had five services though at only two was the warning showing before going in - and the garage correctly reset the indicator every time...

Good luck.

This worked for me but 10 seconds is longer than you think.

First couple of times I guessed 10 seconds and it didn't work.

Third time lucky!

Many thanks for the tip

This has got to be one of the best support groups available.

I have not had my pre-loved Citigo too long. It was serviced prior to purchase and examined immediately after purchase by a competent mechanic. Overkill, but worth it to have the sloshing noise fixed and peace of mind.

Then it starts with this pinging when I turn on the ignition, getting louder and more irritating each time I switch on. It took me a while to spot the insp service reminder and link that to the pinging.

With your help here on a similar issue with the Fabia, I have now reset the ping and the reminder and goodness knows what else.

My point is that Skoda need to make this procedure clearer and include it in the user manual. I am used to getting an annual service check and MOT regardless of mileage. The mechanic would not be able to reset the alarm as it had yet to happen. Then when it did, I would have to revisit them to have it reset.

Keep up the good work.

As with other manufacturers they want you to service the car at specified intervals, and kind of want to scare you into getting it done. Arguably it's not a safety issue, but it is a do it if you want your car to keep running smoothly issue. As we all know regular servicing helps. Therefore they're not going to advertise how you turn it off as they recommend you service at a dealers.

I turned mine off recently, it is annoying but it does get you to think about servicing, will be doing mine next month if the ecu can wait that long...
