new octavia wood trim

Featured Replies

has anyone seen a octavia with the wood dash trim, would like to know if it looks good on the car, thinking of getting on my new order but not seen one, so not sure if it looks good or bad, has anyone go a photo?

Don't go there it looks bad and naff, it's not real wood... You look like a rover man... Ok Skoda is not as bad as some jap cars with 'wood' but still not tasteful

Here we go!

Just scroll through the pictures and you'll find several of the wooden dash. Click the image to have it enlarged.

It's an Irish model. I liked the trim on the car I had test driven however felt it was too old for a man my age! Went with the 'carbon' dash instead.

Well, I've seen it in the local dealer showroom. Yes, it is a bit Rover, but, surprisingly, it's not as bad as I thought it'd be. But then, I'm getting to that age.

In doesn't look anywhere near as bad when combined with ivory interior.

Black wood from the L&K might look ok, but not the whole "real plastic wood" wood.

Wood effect looks great with light interior in Elegance. I don't think the undertaker gray with wood from Irish link above is even available in UK. Picture below was taken by one of the members of Octavia Club Poland, I think the effect was captured quite well:

Then again, I'm partial to this kind of effect because Octy1 L&K had that ivory/wood effect and I loved my Octy1 to bits.

That doesn't look to bad, but again its wood effect. It should be real wood in a Jag, Bentley or Roller.....etc.

Skoda have invented a time machine, takes me back 25 odd years Rover Stirling 827SLi :giggle:

I dont know why you guys love black or silver (ugh!) plastic so much. Wood effect is very nice, but overpriced.

Would that be "Wood effect plastic"?

IMHO. Wood goes well with flap caps, pipes and whippets. Aside from that it has no place in a mainstream modern car interior.

I suppose it depends on the application, 'real' wood looks excellent, as does aluminium or carbon fibre, but we are talking about a competitively priced family car, so imho black or silver plastic would be my preference over a tacky piece of Rover style wood effect trim!

I like wood/plastic in the car.

It gives it a classy feel :)

I would prefer it to my silver trim anyday

Would be ideal if there was a 'shiny' black plastic option. Much like the L&K interior except that has a wooden effect as well..or am I wrong?
