Yes it's another on of these threads... central locking in the drivers door is on the blink as is the heated mirror, the dash 'door open' light doesn't work anymore but the foot light does! Either way I eventually got around to pulling my door apart yesterday, I managed to get the control unit which was attached to the loom and window regulator off and lets just say it's absolutly buggered!!

I think I could get away with cleaning the loom but the control unit itself has pins actually missing! They've just corroded away, I took some pictures that i'll post up later, I still can't get over the state its in!

Problem being the only info for the control unit I have is what was wrtitten on it....

I can't start making enquieries at the scrappy / dealers until I know its the correct info, none of the above appears to be valid vw parts numbers.

Any pointers?! I've heard that although the vrs cars are generally the same there are a number of these different control units available and you must get the right one?

The control unit is part of the window motor and is not available seperately. Look on the motor itself for the part number.
