Bolero - my SD card works perfectly!

It only appears when the car is plugged into the Skoda diagnostics system.

I asked about the firmware update when they had the car to investigate an alarm fault - so would have thought they might have checked, but they clearly don't know what to do so thought I would try a dealer that knows of the update.

Does anyone know if there is any difference in ease of use or setup of music folder/files between a SD card in the Bolero or using a USB stick connected to the MDI connection ?

Do u have to use playlists with SD cards but not with a USB stick?

Thanks

Can't help out from experience but I wouldn't have thought there was any difference in the ease of use aspect.

Playlists can be used with any of the sources including CD's but the reason for them on the original Bolero's was to speed up the operation from 'totally unacceptable' to 'as intended'!

Not sure how playlist would work to program on the Balero but if you mean songs in an order you want to have them in it's easier to just bang them in a folder called AAA on your PC so it shows and plays first. Same thing with favourite albums

Otherwise selecting another song or album when another is already playing is easy on the touch screen. You just cruise around around till you find what you want and press play and it starts just about instantaniously.

I just tried out the SD card properly in the bolero in my new VRS. It can't see > 9 folders deep so seems like the old firm ware, but when I put 9 gig of mp3's on my 16 gig class 10 card it scanned it in about 3 seconds (without using DanishVikings work around).

Even if it is the new Bolero, it still won't see anything below 9 folders deep. However as you can read the card quickly it must be the newer formware that you have.

I have 3 gigs left free on my 16gig class 10 card and it is as your one. Very happy with it

Just consolidated my music from two 2GB SD cards to one, cheap, 4 GB SDHC card. Loading time has not changed- still a bit slow, but no slower than one old card.

I use wma files scanned at 128kbs/s and have plenty more room on the new card, 112 albums so far.

Is there a significant difference between SD and SDHC?

SDHC are just higher capacity cards.
