Ordered my Octavia vRS Diesel CR DSG in Red on May 10th. Options added were auto lights/dimming mirrors & rear sensors. Didn't add maxidot as an extra thanks to this forum confirming they were standard on the DSG model. Went for the diesel as it worked out cost effective taking into account the reduced road tax, increased MPG and resale value. I prefered the extra mid-range power of the diesel compared to the petrol model, although the petrol did move off the line causing a big big smile.

Been told a build date for the week of August 9th and delivery for September 6th, on a 60 plate. This has been confirmed by the dealership in the last week.

Test drove an A3, a Golf (GTI and GTD), a Jetta (Sport), a BMW 1 series (120d), an S40 and a Prius before making my decision. Value for money, a bit more size (headroom and overall cabin space) and a conservative but sporty exterior sold me on the Octavia. Being honest the Octavia was the best car I could find with a similar spec for under £25k and mine was £7k less.

Looking forward to my first car in 7 years, the last one being a 13 year old Rover Metro! The 4 months has been a long wait, but I guess it just adds to the excitement.

Public transport in London is nowhere near as comfortable as sport seats and climate control.

Was in my dealers today - my friend and colleague had put petrol in her diesel Fabia Greenline so had to go and collect her (!!) - salesman says my car is to be built next week and is confident it will be here for 1 September! Fingers crossed - he didn't mention getting the towbar fitted - lets hope he had factored this in to the timescale!

Order paced mid Apri - told Delivery mid August, althogh should be ready on new plate first week of September -I put money on it going back!!!!!

God I am glad I live in NZ.

Ordered my white vRS hatch on Sunday. Probably pick it up on Thursday, now admittedly it's one they had in the showroom.

Standard spec for NZ:

We don't get to choose much in the way of options here...

Will get it tinted and lowered... not sure what else yet. Am having a REVO chip put on it and tuned...

Just a quicky to see if anyone else is expecting a vrs delivery in mid sept? Wondered what build week it could be and if they had any progress on it ?

AT LAST - ordered April 21st - delivery w/c 6th Sept.

I hope....

I ordered my new vRS on June 6th and was told it would be here for the new 60 plate at the begining of September

Called the dealer to today for a check up and was told that my car was build week 44 and won't be with me before the end of November !!!!

Anyone else with build date issues... 6 months does seem a bit excessive to be honest ??

excuse my ignorance, but wat does the build "plate" signify?

i ordered mine june 15th, with an eta of oct 31st.

still trying to confirm with my dealer if this is still the case!!

spoke to my dealer today. ordered 19th June and eta is end of September.

estate spoiler isnt now available to order for the facelift though :(

Order placed for a VRS CR DSG Hatch in Race Blue + front / rear parking sensors / Bluetooth / auto dim mirror / MDI / spare wheel on June 11 - week 23

Prov. Build date - week 44 , then week 38 now week 40!

Rang Skoda UK today. Informed that sales up 60 % from last year and factory are trying to do everything poss. to improve situation.

Luckily dealer, Progress Letchworth prepared to honour px price given for September delivery. They have been a pleasure to deal with so far.

Will get regular updates, but ooh what a long wait! Saw a FL in Race Blue last week in traffic. Felt sooo excited like a kid in a sweet shop.

Ordered my FL vRS 2.0 FSi on Monday 2nd August.

Told to expect 17/18 week delivery time. Which puts it very close to Christmas.

Lets not forget folks that the factory had a 3 week holiday over the summer.

It should be back to full steam ahead now.

My dealer is also Letchworth, but haven't given me a p/ex price for my Octavia.

Only paid £500 deposit so might lose that and go for a stock A4 or a Passat CC if I can get a better deal as the value of my Octy will not go up over the next 4 months.

60 = UK Number plate indicator for Sept 2010 - Feb 2011

11 = UK Number plate indicator for March2011 -August 2011

61 = UK Number plate indicator for Sept 2011 - Feb 2012

12 = UK Number plate indicator for March2012 -August 2012

and so on.

Traditionally if your car is ready just before the new plate its worth delaying registration as it will be worth more when the time comes to sell with the newer plate

My VRS is build week 30, now all done and dusted after their holls (lets hope this doesn't effect the build quality !) its now sat in Germany awaiting a lift on the ferry to the UK, then ill be able to collect it by mid august, im not going to delay collection just for a new plate and a few pounds at the end of 3 yrs, i want my car and i want if fast, cant wait, as far as im concerned my car will be just as new as any 60 plate on the first of september  , lets face it i will not see the plates very much as ill be driving it a lot :giggle:

Good for you mate! Personally I'd have taken a 10 in July happily but by August the lure of the 60 would be strong. Mine was never going to be before September anyway so easy choice for me.

Hi Bud,

Just found out this afternoon that I'm build week 40 too. Same dates quoted. I ordered mine in the last week of June through Forces Cars Direct & Motorpoint of Dartford. I was expecting my new toy a wee bit sooner than this - GRRRR
