:D as the title says, not an octy, but close enough

My dad and i have just finished modding (for the moment;)) his 2008 SEAT Leon 1.9PD 105bhp :) He started modding it a few months ago..............

1) Angel Tuning remap, 105 to 150(ish) BHP

2) Upgraded SEAT Sport suspension (springs and shocks)

3) Sports interior with center arm rest and rear tints

4) Parking sensors

5) Upgraded SEAT alloys with 5mm spacers on Pirelli P7 rubber, Red calipers (considering 312's! ;))

6) LCR front splitter

7) BTCC rear spoiler

8) S/S exhaust, rear box removed and VXR style tail pipe

9) De-finned airbox (he's undecided on a "performance" filter)

10) FR honeycombe style upper grille

11) Chrome number plate surrounds and a "dragon" badge on bootlid

I'm not keen on the no. plate surround at the back, and the exhaust could do with a bumper cut-out. Other than that, very smart.

  • Author

Not keen on the plate surrounds either  The bumper HAS got a cutout, might just be how i've taken the piccy :D

He's wanting a set of "wolfsburgh" plate surrounds now lol

Mmmmmm.......Not sure tbh. Exhaust looks real Barry Boys. On my FR I have had the aero dual exhuast fitted which sits snuggly into the rear diffuser. The mk1 cupra splitter looks horrible on the mk2 ( I had one fitted for a week before getting rid if it!). I organised a group buy for a load of cup spoilers from Germany on seatcrupra.net which look ace of the Leon, will post some pics tomorrow .All IMHO of course :). Do like the spoiler and side skirt option though if he can track a pair of them down

tbh its hardly Barry boys bud  He's 60!  He's always liked the look of the MK1 splitter, doesnt REALLY like like the twin exit. My dad's all about being different ;) As i've said, he's got "plans" but aint gonna tell me, the sod

Looks good except the exhaust which is clearly an after market bolt on ...aka..MaxPower :(

Fair play to him, get rid of the dragon though put a bull on! I really think he'd like a black cup spoiler on the front though, follows the curves so much better.

Not a bolt on mate, its s stainless system he's had done and chose this, as said, he likes being different instead of following the crowd ;)

Moley, get a pic o the cup spoiler up n a price bud  trying to get him to completely de-badge the back :D

The front lip doesn't fit the shape but you could shorten the 2 middle legs to take the bow out of it.

  • Author

I suggested that to him, but he likes the effect as it fits with the curves of the rest of the front grilles  think he's having a crisis

Could he get the exhaust moved to the centre cos it's too big to suit the car as it is?

  • Author

Would need to change the bumper for a center exit cutout one. He seems happy with it and to be honest, it looks better in the "metal" so to speak ;)

Fare play mate, mods are all about individual taste and is does look menacing with that exhaust!

I will bring this back to Skoda's however as yesterday I finally ordered a vRS race blue DSG CR hatchback with rear parking sensors, and ipod connection and the Eibach springs. Due w/c 25th October so a bit of a wait but still before the second child is due. The Leon has been immense over the last 3 years and 98,000 miles, every mile a joy.

The modding has begun on the vRS already with a set of these ordered http://www.rimstyle.com/products/detail/?category=alloy_wheels;type=bbs_ck_bs;manufacturer=bbs;model=106;id=BBSCKBS1880805112444410780

like the splitter  have you got a pic of the from the side?

Think the BTCC spoiler finishes the back of the Leon perfectly tho ;)

Thanks for that Moley :D

I hate the look of Modern Seats and have done for some time. They're just Skodas for chavs and pikeys and nothing in those pictures persuades me otherwise. Each to their own I suppose.

As the car is chipped how did this affect the insurance?

He's 60! Hardly a "chav" or "pikey" mate :wonder:  :dull:

Think your opinion needs some substance, i'm quite sure not all SEAT drivers are all "chavs" or "pikeys".

Thats like me saying 1.6 CR D owners are too tight to buy a real engine, thus making a sweeping generalisation which is totally wrong, as everyone has their own personal taste and choices.

I've been a member on this site for a while now, and to be honest, i'm getting sick and tired of people's cutting remarks towards others that are trying to be "different" and "individual" There is differences between constructive critisism and just being ar$ey...................... :D :p

Rant over  :rofl

My dad say's it has went up for him about 80 quid a year, declaring all his mods   Was the same price if he just declared the remap

As a driver of 13 years and an average mileage of 35,000 miles a year with no points I don't really understand your comment. Alll my modifications are OEM items and if you were to look on some of the Seat forums especially seatcupra.net you would see some fantastic cars standard and modified driven by nice genuine people who meet at various events like BTCC, BBQ,etc with their families and friends.

Wind your neck in sloppy steve, or register in Pistonheads where your gormless keyboard warrior comments are very welcome

Typical Seat driver with anger management issues - calm down. :giggle:

I was simply expressing an opinion, not insulting your manhood.

  • Author

Your "opinion" was a bit harsh by virtually classing all SEAT drivers as chavs or pikeys. Maybe a more thought out written opinion would not have insulted people?

It was a joke. It doesn't need to have any substance.
