Jon, ask Mike. AFAIK he's working with Jeroen on this together, so no squeeze there, I'd say.

In fact, I believe that Jabba's 360hp car has been JD's inspiration :D

Anyway, here are the details:

Jeroen's best job is the 400hp Golf MkI that his gf's daily driver... :D :D

Jon, ask Mike

I did, but he wouldn't tell me. :(

My car has a problem which Mike doesn't know the answer to but he thinks Jeroen does, but he won't let me contact him direct.

Thank you for the info.

Maybe I'll work out the answer to my car's problem all by myself ;)

Strangely enough a fix has been found, now need to rebook

:D

So have you been a great help to yourself? :D

I love how people assume K04 is a bad deal. For an RS, yes it's not recommended because of the hybrid k03/k04 turbo that comes stock. However, for a 150hp Octavia, a K04 is a great mod if all you want is great torque, without having to pay thousands of pounds for it. In fact, at less than USD1000, including injectors and the turbo, the K04 is probably the best mod for the buck that you can do to a 150hp Octavia.

The IHI turbo sounds interesting, but just glancing at the Jabba manifold's price (500GBP) tells me the kit is probably in excess of USD4000 without installation. Now that is way too much for 360bhp.

I agree Speedy, thats why I am not doing either.

I've been tempted in the past to start exporting simple kits to Europe/UK. Prices are just way too high over there.

Speedy G

Speedy,

You have a PM.

What's the big secret here? Although I'm far from upgrading/moddifying my engine to improve performance, I do like to know what is possible. I thought this forum was independant, but going by the short cryptic messages, it almost seems you're affraid to step on someone's toes... Or am I just being paranoid?

Q.

Quinten,

You have a PM.

:D

LOL :D /me practises the secret handshake... now was it the left hand or right hand middle finger...?? ;)

Quinten/Tavia Any chance I could be let into the secret also, Im also looking at options as you know

Hi Speedy

Jabba remap on a 150bhp octy gives in the region of 225bhp+ and at

Only if you've got a fly-by-wire throttle Des :(

Nick

Is it not a smooth remap with the wire throttle then, or is the power not there, or is it not a bargain at all.

Hit the "quote" button, next to the "edit" one, above "post reply"

You can do we're all behind you hummmmmm, everybody, hummmmmm.

Des

Des,

Power is beautifully smooth, but with the 150bhp AGU engine, such as fitted to the more antique models ;) only 200-ish bhp is available. Something to do with the little K03 turbo ....

In fact a good place to echo your sentiments about "like the original, but with more power". That's exactly how mine feels. Even disappointing at times because if you close your eyes and back off a little it could still be the original map. But plant the foot and the whistle starts playing .....

Ah , that quote button !!!! Hallelujah :D

Cheers Des ;)

Thats a 33% increase, even for an antique model ;) thats value for money isn't it. :D
