Wheel colour change?

Featured Replies

Think I might do the wheels on my next one, might get the roof wrapped too.

What ya think?

You know anyone through your contacts who does the wheels then Ant?

Dan's just phoned up enquiring about the £20 a wheel offer and they said kerbing not a problem.

I'm off down there with the next scabby set I get hold then! That's very good indeed

Anyone know turnaround for them? Always tend to have a spare set of wheels for stuff like this, so you can just drop loose wheels with a company and go back once they're done.

We've had wheels painted before, normally for the kids who buy the SEATs though. I think they'd be better powder coated, I've a few companies who've given me their details so might give one a try. I'll hopefully have mine before you so I'll be the guinea pig if you like.

I've also found a vinyl wrap company who will do the roof for £190 which is cheaper than painting it and I can always take it off when we sell it.

Sounds interesting. Let us know if you decide to do the wheels. I will pop down and have a look. I'm sure it will look great.

Still not convinced about the roof. Jurys out at the moment. :)

had mine done in a medium anthracite - they had been 'smart' repaired very badly ! £235 full strip powder coat and tyre balance @ SEM in sunderland.

highly reccomended.

looking good sprout!

i think that colour or similar on a white car would look great.

i found a couple of pics of wheels this colour on a german white pre-FL estate some time back - ended up getting mine done much darker than this, but its a good look and inspired me to do the colour change.

also attached a quick paintshop i did last year to see what this colour wheel would look like on a silver estate, with a small (eibach type) suspension drop.

HTH.

I dont suppose if you have time you could post some close ups of the wheels so I can see what the finish is like?

Many thanks

No the finish looks spot on! Thanks for that

Incidently what tyres are those? Falken 452's? or 912's?

I may be wrong but they look like 452's, got them on mine, never again!

i thought it was a good advert for the tyres !

452's from camskill £65 each.

My Contis are going rather quick, I've got 7000 miles on now and they seem to be shredding :'(

Mind you, sometimes having a lead right foot doesn't help :giggle:

I will be replacing them when they go with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's, had them on my s2000 and they were excellent! Far better than tyres that can be 50 quid more!

i was using GY F1's on my 120d M Sport but rubbish in winter. Had just put T1R's on when i sold it. They were not as good as GY's

Falkens will do for now. At end of day. Good tyres are usually soft that's how they grip so well. Hard tyres last but are rubbish in wet.

Can't disagree with that, they are good in the wet! I think I will go for Vredesteins next time around.

Really good website, pretty much every tyre out there with real word, real user reviews

Vredsteins get some good reviews too! I may try them actually, they are around the same price as the Hankooks

hortons have given me a good price to paint my wheels black.

these look awasome.

cant really tell from photo - are they matt or gloss ?

where did you get them done ?

those are gloss.

matt just looks dirty.. mine are gloss too, but after a few weeks the dust makes them look matt anyway..

bettsy - just a thought - painting is ok (mine are painted) but powdercoat is probably a more durable finish. make sure you know what they are quoting for.

What colour if any could you use on a Black Octy , just been thinking after reading all posts , has anyone got any pictures . Also been quoted £75 for both front whheels to be smart repaired ( not me previous owner)
