New guy and needs a little help?

Featured Replies

Hi ya people, Im currently looking at a Fabia Vrs, and have veiwed a couple so far. I must say I am very impressed with them out of the box, and Ross Clarkes has sold me on them(you know me ross from astra-sport).

What Help I need is what exactly should I look for in these cars, Is there any know faults with them, what colors are they avalible in, ect, ect.

Really anything that would help me out with one.

Im just trying to sort the insurance side of it at the moment. As I need to get it straight because I want to keep my current car aswell, so the fabia will be my daily runner, and toy, and my astra for shows and the Mrs to take to work.

This is my current car.

Thanks in advance guys and gals.

Hi there! :D

Not a Fabia owner myself, but I'm sure someone will be able to help. If you've got time, you'll find shed loads of all the info you'll ever need here on the site!

Hi Brett

Colours are

Black

Silver

Red

Yellow

No real main problems to look out for, all are still covered by warranty.

Other than that just about everything is on here somewhere, have a flick through the articles and reviwes section in the top menu bar.

Cheers

Ross

Cheers ross, I have been to look at a silver one and red one.

Wasnt overly keen on it in red.

So no major flaws with them, and what are the main dealers overall like? good or bad.

Skoda dealers generally are very good, almost as if they have something to prove rather than sitting back on the 'prestigious' rep of say VW.

That was one of my worries mate after hearing some tales of VW dealers, and after have greif with vauxhall dealers in there own ways, I was hoping for a bit of plain sailing.

Check out the reviews section where people have put good and bad comments about their local dealers...... :D

Chris

dealers are good, though they sametimes dont get the backing from skoda uk, or atleast information from them.

Had mine since may 04 and has done 14k with no problems (well apart from the sun visor clip has broken, I must get that fixed)

Black seems the most popular colour. Other than that buy one and enjoy it!! :D

Hi Brett, Had my Fabia vrs (red) since june only problem an annoying knock from the exhaust heat shield,..apart from the deer i hit on the 17th,it goes in for repair today

Chris

Main problem I have with my red vRs is the amount of crap that gets deposited on the rear of the car. All the exhaust crud seems to get thrown up all over the back very quickly (filthy a couple of days after washing).

Mind you If I leave it long enough the mrs washes it anyway.

Part from that the only other prob is my missuses right foot on the excellarator.

If you buy one , believe me you'll love it.

I had done no research at all, just needed a deisel for work and thought skoda will be cheap. test drove and wet my pants (if you bought the demo I driove , sorry for the smell).

MERRY CRIMBO EVERYBODY :):):):):):):):)

Cheers guys that info is great and a lot of possitive comments.

The main reason for it is I want something I can play with, and cheep on the old fuel.

The reviews on dealers id very helpfull. The one im going to look at has got a good review.

Im not looking at throwing masses of cash at the car, did that with the astra, only looking at spending 2.5 3k on mods.

I have plans for AMD remap, Miltec zorst, panel filter, bigger disks, coilovers and some golf 17"s, and that would do me fine. what output "bhp/tourqe" would I expect from these mods on a fabia.

Thanks guys you have been very helpfull so far.

Just in general id be expecting you to be having up to about 190 bhp with those mods IIRC

Welcome also!

If you get it mapped, check around the site here on experiences with remaps, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Basically, you pays your money, you takes your choice, and the service experience from ANY if the re map dealers appears to have been VERY good.

Really as much as that? I new ross clarkes was running more than that but he has a Hybrid turbo I think. I will most likley take it to AMD, as we had a rolling road day there with astra sport, they were really welcoming top guys, that new there stuff, I would trust them to do the work right. Any way listen to me I aint even brought it yet and already choosing mods lol.

I know all the people with the amd one-click were well chuffed with it and i myself will be getting it in the new year :)
