Production delays

Featured Replies

Just picked this up from the Yeti forum My link all Skoda CZ plants are having to stop production due to flooding at a suppliers :S Guess that's going to effect the wife's Fabia which was scheduled for next week, having come forward from the week after

TP

Suppliers in Pakistan eh :giggle:

There has been massive flooding in SW Poland - This borders Czech Republic so I expect they have been affected too.

That may explain why delivery of my Fabia Elegance Estate 1.2 TSI DSG which I was told would be delivered end Sept is now scheduled for Nov.

Or would it ??

Quite possibly. I remember a photo that was posted when Skoda was last affected by flooding. There were about 200+ brand new cars underwater :o

Blimey. I was told mine would be early to mid-September for delivery (ordered in May). I wonder if our car will be affected......

It seems that this time it's the supplier of ceilings that is affected, so I don't imagine any whole cars will damaged.

I spoke to Dave @ Adamsons today as it is a month today since I ordered my Fabia Estate and he quoted a build date of week 35, which is about 2 weeks time.

I mentioned about the flooding at the suppliers and knew all about it and reckoned it only affected 2 days production. Incidentlaly he said delivery times for Octavias were even slower than Fabias at present.

Regards

Grahame.

Thanks Grahame,

seven weeks to build from order is not too bad. Placed our order 9 weeks ago yesterday and she is/was due down the line this comming week as mentioned above. Slight delay with the summer shut down and now unfortunately this (but more so for those directly effected).

TP

It looks to me like there could be a bit of salesmanship re delivery dates for cars! Grahame ordered his 1 month ago and is expecting build date week 35 (Week commencing 30 August)!

I ordered my Fabia Elegance 1.6TDi on 23 June with a 10-12 week delivery time. I was told last week scheduled build week 41, ETA UK 15 Oct, wonder when I'll get the car 17-18 weeks after order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed - ours ordered mid-May and we have been told to expect mid-September delivery.

Well we will have to see when the car actually turns up. There certainly seems to be variations on car delivery dates!!

On Order. Fabia SE 1.6Tdi CR 105 Estate in Corrida Red.

Any more news on this front?

Any more news on this front?

Not heard anything here; spoke to my dealer the day before this story broke and as previously stated they had very recently been given a new build week of WK33 from the previous WK34. Dealer intended to contact me next when she lands at Emden.

Will contact them again later next week if I hear no more.

  • 4 weeks later...

I ordered an Octavia Scout on 26/6 with a lead of 18 weeks, delivery date estimate of October (2010 for the avoidance of doubt!). After about 5 weeks I chased the dealer who said I wouldn't get a build date until after the factory holiday, although he wasn't sure when that began or ended. Yesterday, he told me the car was week 49 build, which means delivey sometime in January. 6 months is an outrageous delay but they say the date may come forward. I have agreed to wait another 2 weeks before cancelling to see whether there is any forward movement, although backward looks more likely.

Apparently, the lead for a new order is 23+ weeks.

I like the car, like the deal but can't wait another 4 months when there are other brands available. Pity.

Shame, but this seems to be Skoda`s huge problem at the moment...Too many incentives to buy then let themselves and their customers down with an almost total indifference as to when they can deliver...The best times to reap the advantage of incentives is when you have fields full of stock....I was told in May by a dealer that the earliest he could quote on an Octavia would have been October which is why I went for a Fabia...Oh yes and their delivery system is much the same as well...

Still plenty of other manufacturers with available stock...good luck

It doesn't make sense to me why they recently started TV advertising when they cannot deliver...

Ordered my wife's Fabia vRS on 28th July.

Been given week 39 as build date..

I think thats week beginning 20th September..

Is this right??

Unfortunately , week 39 is Sunday 26th September......... I only know this because I have been given week 37 as a build date, and this is Sunday 12th September.

I don't understand how you ordered the day before me, and you have a later build date??? Does not make sense to me!
