WRC Octavia?

Featured Replies

Oh just go for it :D you know you REALLY want it and it would be a shame to see someone else driving it.......................... ;)

Off topic again this link is better I so want one...

I`d say defo go for it, i`ve had mine 2 years this October and i still love it to bits. Loads of people pass comment on it and the looks you get whilst driving round is worth every penny. I`ve had people come upto me when filling with fuel and they want to know everything about it. The only downside is that the police seem to take far to much interest in it. Also with it having white alloys they are a real bugger to keep clean especially with me using it as a daily car as the miles are really starting to rack up now.

But on the whole they are worth every penny :)

All the best

Phil.

It seems someone has got this now.

I can give some information i found out on friday that stopped me going to look at this.

Mike the previous owner give me a call to say why he sold it!

There are no problems with the car but he wanted something newer and traded it in for another car.

What put me off was the price the seller was asking for this compared to the part ex Mike got for it.

Hi 'twas me. Been up to Cheshire this morning to do the dirty. Must recommend the seller as 1st rate.

Let Mike know nr.84 is alive and well in Northampton, and does he still have the cd and radio codes! ;o)

Is it really worth mor ethan a standard car...If it had more power I would say yes but the extra you get I would have to think twice...

Is it really worth more than a standard car...If it had more power I would say yes but the extra you get I would have to think twice...Will say it does look lovely....But we have just bought a spotless 52 plate black VRS with 29k on the clock for 3500.......Makes the WRC look a tad expensive.

i might not be popular saying this but... i am not a fan of the stickers, i like the car for the fact it has xenon and side airbags etc however, i dont think the stickers are worth anything unless you are a collector or if you like them. I for one do not want loud stickers all over my car but thats just me, way too much attention.

Dont get me wrong, its a cool car, just not what i would want as a daily, now take stickers off and swap all my bits onto it would tempt me, but i might as well buy one thats already had the stickers taken off if thats the case!

This car is only really valuable as a the OEM factory spec special edition.

Once you mod it in any way, your de-tracting from that value.

If you want the few extra toys that these came with, fit them to a modded "normal" vRS, leave the WRC edition mothballed in the garage to go up in value as it becomes rarer. Sell in 10yrs for £10K + to a collector ....

Look @ how much a Good condition "normal" Mk.1 GTI Golf is worth now

the only vrs that came with sideairbags though!

you are right, value is in originality

wot about a mk1 thats in not so good condition....ahem

Recon wouldn't be that hard to retrofit airbags. Just need new controller, 2x side impact sensors, 2x front seats and some new wire

parts are too expensive to make it feasible thats the prob, believe me i have thought about it and talked to my local skoda dealer parts guy who thought it would cost thousands if at all possible as apparently is very hard to retrofit and skoda would never do it so cannot offer any type of technical experience.....booo

It was the stickers that sold it!

When I had my Superb in 2003 it was a vRS or Superb, and went with the Superb as the Vrs was due a new model. 2006 drove the mk2 vRS and felt it was crap compared to the mk1 (I'll duck now!)

I now only need to do limited mileage, and intend to keep it as originally supplied,. any mods I do will be reversible, eg stereo, poss wrc rear spoiler (providing it can utilise the existing holes.)

Only other car I can think of that was stickered like this was the Carlos Sainz Toyota Celica GT4 in the early nineties.

I think the price I paid should remain confidential to protect the seller. However I did pay less that the advertised price, and while I am normally a tightar5e when it comes to buying cars, I feel I paid a reasonable price for a fairly unique car.

I had carefully assessed 2002 vrsesses to get a comparison and majority are in the 3500-4k bracket at similar miles. Note I would guess the trade in at Ford would have been circa 2-2.5K . so the seller made a profit off me, thats how the world goes round...

Good on you. I for one love the look of the WRC car especially the stickers. Shame it did not come with the WRC rear spoiler and 18" rims like the TD pro race in white. Then i would leave it standard and not fettle with it. (from a owner with a WRC wing  )

The car is worth what ever you are prepared to pay for it. who cares if a standard VRS is loads cheaper, as long as you are happy with it that's all the matters. They are a rare car and someone will always want a rare car, but agree better to keep it standard.

Strange but i too love the Carlos Sainz Toyota Celica GT4, and nearly bought a lookalike GT4 some years back. There was also a Castrol toyota corolla done up around my way which I had a soft spot for too. My Brother in law has a Lancia Delta Integrale EVO 1, now don't get me going on that one as i won't sleep tonight

Is it just me? I think cars with stickers and pseudo race/rally car paint schemes look ridiculous on the road. Stealth is better.

That's just fricking awesome. Look at the size of the intake for the airbox!!!
