is bolero compatible with pre FL octy

Featured Replies

hey guys,,

i have the chance to get my hands on a bolero unit, any suggestions or info on whether it will fit and work in my octy 2006 pre FL model

thanks a lot

There are 2 versions of the bolero, and they are both different shapes. The superb one will fit, but will need a new dash surround. The Octavia one should bolt straight in, although you may need to upgrade your can gateway as well. Search for battery drain info as to why/how.

i had one out of a 2009 octavia witch fitted straight into my 2007 octavia with climate controll. now putting inn sat nav so will be up for sale.

but do check the trin . you may need a new one

Have a look at this linky

I asked the same questions and it seems that you may have to upgrade the canbus to prevent the battery drain, iirc there was one on ebay for around 70 quid.

cheers guys,

thats good news for me, (pagey1255) i checked the link, it does say about updating can bus but how is it done, do i have to go to the skoda dealer, could'nt find the £70 ebay deal tho.

(vwdan1986) let us know when u want to sell ur bolero, my car is an ambient so doesnt have climatronic and the dash is very dark boring grey as usual lol

Have a look here slighty more now at just under 80 quid! All you do is replace your current one for the upgrade, I think it may need coding with a VCDS but don't quote me on that.

cheers mate,

i got the link and and keeping an eye on it, so i just replace the can in my car with this, if VCDS is required do i need to go to skoda dealers for that, pardon my ignorance but i dont even know what VCDS is

Hi

I have 2006 Skoda Octavia L&K, I amlooking for Bolero Head unit. Do I need any other hardware?

I also have factoryfitted Parking Sensors, Are they compatible with Bolero?

Hi there

Not that I am aware of off I think the bolero will just fit stright into your L&K and will work fine with parking sensors, you get the optical appearance on the bolero.

You may require some recoding to get all functions though depending on vehicle.

As Mannyo says, there's a chance you'll have the battery drain issue on a car of that age, requiring a replacement CAN Gateway, cost of around £100.

Thanks for the link BigC, I really appreciate that.

It seems like I’ll have start a hunt for a new can gateway.
