Sorry folks. The time has come to say bye to the octy and hello to the new motor. The cost for me this year to insure the car was going to be TOO much and the payments on the car were killing me. BIG STYLE!!!!!!!!!!

So i went and got a Ford Focus Zetec S 1.8 125bhp. Nice an cheap to insure and tax and looks smart as hell too with all the ST bodykit on it.

I have loved every minute of the octy be it bad or good ( mostly good though )and now that i have fallen victim to the public sector squeeze, changes had to be made. So thanks to the tory-lib dem ****ers and to all the arses who sponge off the goverment. Your assistance is appreciated.

Mike a just didnt have a choice mate. The public sector cuts i didint think could affect us bus drivers but at First bus it has. We are knocked down from 55 hours to 35 hours that to me is 180 per week. thats my car payments a month.

I still have the car the now. Its in parks of hamilton getting repaired from the break down in lanacaster on saturday but when it is fixed then its def going. Possibly Friday sat or sunday. Also one of the turning points was the dpf ****ing up and thats the cause of the breakdown and with the car going out of warranty next month and the dpf causing me real problems recently it only makes sense.

I hope one day i will get an octy vrs again but this time the petorl version. The dpf's on the diesels seem to cause the majority of problems for skoda and even throughout the vw range. Plus my insurance was ASTRONOMICAL this year and i cant afford to run it at a big cost again.

However i wont diss the skoda as its the probably the most reliable car on the planet at the moment with build quaility exceptional and the engines bullet proof. if the vw range would just re-look at the problems these dpf's cause then the custom would be soo much better in my opinion.

Anyhow can i still come to the meetings and the rolling road day and other events even though i will be in a blue oval??????????? LOL!!!

I will be attending the RR day but I could not in all honesty subject "Black Beauty" to a dyno.run this early in his/her?? life(450 miles).The thought of damaging the beast`s innards does concern me.

Normally you get 2-3 runs on the dyno anyway, you could always try a few tweaks inbetween ? Or just ask to go last so he's not taking it on/off the rollers twice ??
