I seem to have an exceptionally long list of privately owned and company supplied vehicles from a long history of driving, never tried to list them all before.

M/cycles

Honda 90 m/cycle

Honda 250 M/cycle N reg

X reg Honda 250 XL Trail

Cars I have bought or had for long periods as a lease car

1972 Mini clubman saloon first car in 1975,later converted it to 1275 gt engine

since then

P reg Triumph Spitfire 1500

P reg Vauxhall Chevette, amazingly fast for engine size with fantastic handling, later ones detuned to slow them down, but rusted through at 4 years old!

R reg 2lt Capri with webasto sunroof

x reg Mini 100, went to my sister after a year, then back to us as my wifes wedding present

A reg Astra SR, my first new car

C reg XR2 new

D reg Citroen BX diesel, new, most uncomfortable drivers seat I ever had, had to go.

D reg VW Jetta TX

X Reg polo given to my wife by parents when they moved abroad with only low miles, but I used it for a year to keep Jetta mileage down

C reg Audi coupe, fantastic 5 cylunder engine

D reg Polo coupe mainly for wife

G reg Astra Belmont mainly for wife

J reg rover 214 sporty 3 door version

M reg Peugeot 405 turbodiesel Estate

R reg Mondeo 1.8

R reg Peugeot 106 Diesel, mainly for wife

51 Reg Mondeo Ghia estate tdi

X reg Fabia 1.4 8 valve, new mainly for wife

55 Reg Super Comfort 130bhp comfort, my most favourite car to date

53 reg Fabia diesel 100bhp diesel estate comfort, mainly for wife and still have this

10 Reg Yeti 110 bhp elegance 2wd

Other notable vehicles I can remember

Bedford CF van I drove for a summer as a Student job, around London and SE, 2.3lt engine and when empty could beat anything off the lights in second gear. You only needed first fully loaded on a hill. Very twitchy on bends empty as the double wheels each side had such stiff springs the whole rear of the van would bounce of the road on a bump!

Very large top of range vauxhall estate as temporary work car, can't recall the model, but first auo I have had for any time, under 20mpg!

G reg Cavalier 2lt Saloon again as temporary works car, very economical

BMW series 3 estate diesel, had it for a week and hated it, glad to get the Superb back aftyer repairs

Golf GT Tdi as a hire car, awfull thing, felt like it had no springs, just banged from one bump to the next

Hired Ford Focus for 2 weeks in Portugal

Hired Opal Corsa in Portugal for 2 weeks

Worst car I can recall driving was a moris marina hire car I had for two weeks. It was nearly new but was falling apart inside with switches breaking as you used them, and wallowed round corners in an extremely unsafe manner.

Memorable cars owned by my parents that I have used a lot

In UK

Ford Thames Minibus with a crash first speed, 3 speeds altogether, 0-70 never

1972 Ford Cortina Mk3 1.6, I learnt to drive in this.

Renault 12 estate

Renault 25

Audi 100cd

In Portugal after they emigrated

Renault 5

Nissan Micra

A large renault estate, can't recall the model

Blimey. Some of you guys have had LOADS of cars.

Mine are:-

1984 rover 216 vanden plas

1985 metro 1.3

1984 fiesta 1.1

1990 Escort RS Turbo

1993 Rover 220 Coupe

1998 Rover 820 Turbo Coupe

1994 Rover 414

1993 Rover 414

then I fancied something FAST and fun for sunny weekends so bought a

Lotus 340r - a track based car based on the Lotus Elise. It looked nothing like one though.

190bhp and less than 700kg - it was rediculously fast round bends and accelerating!!!

Then we had a daughter so I had to sell my Lotus, scrap the Rover and buy my Fabia vrs

and a Punto for the misses.

That's all I've had for the past 15 years.

Here is my list, I know I have missed out a couple, but I have the same problem remembering ex-girlfriends!

Triumph Herald 1360 - Great fun, used to unbolt the roof, ok so long as I kept the doors shut!

Morris minor - Had to hold it first gear going uphill

Ford Escort Estate MK1 - Like a slow boat

Dutton melos kit Car - Made from the escort, but with 1700cc crossflow

Renault 12 - super slow, but quiet

Hillman Avenger 1600 - Nippy and good fun until I wrote it off on Rivelin valley Road in Sheffield.

Ford Capri 3000S - move over Doyle.

Vauxhall Cavalier MK2 - good ride, but rust bucket.

Toyota Rav 4 - First new car - part ex after 6 months

Toyota Carina 1600cc lean burn - boringly efficient and economical

Robin Hood kit car I built out of a Triumph Dolomite Sprint

Renault 10 with mechanical auto box, Renault 5 engine in the rear with starting handle

Toyota Hiace Super Custom - great till the headgasket blew

Citroen ZX 1.9 Diesel - Interior fell apart, but nice motor, my veg oil special before government got wise and veg oil prices went up

Volvo 740 - Liked this one, kept going whatever.

Nissan Primera - poo, weird electrics-NATS

Landrover Defender TD5- love this, wife drives it

Fabia VRS - I treat it like an old fella with a Thai wife, lavish it with gifts as it brings me so much pleasure!

Nearly bought a BMW 330D, but preferred the Fabia! and saved some money :D

Thats it for me, had lots of motorbikes as well, another story

1. Rover MINI 1.0 City Automatic 1992 - great laugh around roundabouts, very poor reliability.

2. Ford KA 3 1.3 1999 - ( forgive me o lord for this mistake lol )

3. Peugeot 206 Zest 3 1.4 HDI 2005 - quite a good engine but awful dashboard and driving position - I mean AWFUL

4. BMW 330I Sport 2000 - This was the start of proper cars :) remapped to produce 245bhp and quite abit of torque this thing went - let down by colour tho ( black )

5. Toyota Camry Sport 2.2 1999 - Put Simply the best car i've ever driven and owned, never let me down and just a lovely cruiser down the motorways - killed when i did the god awful scrappage :(

6. Honda S2000 2000 - I spent aload of money on this motor ( hard top, AP2 wheels, Professional Paint Correction, servicing etc ) put a smile on my face but felt dangerous at real high speed due to it being quite light.

7. Hyundai i20 Style 2009 - probably worst car I bought ( this was in place of the toyota, and I feel the pain every day )

8. Audi A8 L 4.2 Quattro 2003 - This car I currently own along side the next car on the list :), it's a true bad ass motor, again had it remapped ( 355bhp / 390nm Torque ) very long car ( 5.1 metres, extremely smooth with adjustable air suspension - horrible when things need sorting, more electrics than a NASA space rocket - spent 1K on a Authorisation module when the car cocked up after trying to jump start it.

9. Skoda Fabia VRS 2007 - driven around europe in it in august and never skipped a beat, also went around the ring on the same tank of fuel that got me there from bristol lol, only thing I hate is the white on the seats, bloke who thought of this should of been shot.

Yep :) they are good reliable cars and have never let me down

I love my little vrs and plan to run it untill its not financially sensible to do so ie LOTS of things start going wrong with it.

But if/when the turbo goes its getting the hybrid / FMIC treatment.
