A Furby vRS on STANDARD wheels but with the Eibach vRS suspension fitted to lower it ~30 mm? I suspect it should look lots better?

Ill take a few pics of mine tomorrow... :D

Edit: theres a couple of odd ones in my gallery

and here

Some of mine on standard wheels and a 30mm drop. The 1st one is about 5 minutes and 2 miles after fitting them. ;)

Must say I do like the look of them dropped. Must resist ;)

Did you fit some new dampers as well ?

That drop looks spot on, arches are filled perfectly :)

That does look really good I have to admit - quite a subtle but at the same time dramatic improvement :)

I went for the dampers too..

one thing im not sure about: Graeme who has just the springs says the ride is really harsh.. but i think the springs and dampers are spot on :D

yep, mine is rather harsh with just the springs, so I would reccomend the shocks too. Certainly looks better though doesn't it. ;)

How does replacing the springs and dampers affect the warranty? Obviously the replacement parts are not covered, but does doing so queer the patch for other items such as bushes and suspension mountings/arms, roll bars etc?

Looks might fine though being just that little bit tighter to the deck.

Tuesday morning and the first bolt will get tightened onto the chassis of my forthcoming Vrs

Warranty issues will depend on the dealer, some are better than others.

Just how can one single dealer workshop technician decide whether you should have a warranty or not?

Whats the best suspension set up, Koni Adjustables with Eibach's? and how much is the ride comfort affected? Also is it noiser and how dramatic is the improvement in handling terms?

Turns a blind eye I suppose.....

I'm not really sure why they didnt make it that low to start with.... my dad's Polo TDI Sport looks lower than my car (and I know he didnt do anything to it), and its clearly much firmer than my car... definitely looks better though!

@Hellfire, my limited understanding of the Eibach kit (cant comment on the Koni's) is that they are progressive springs, and therefore ride quality should at very least equal the standard springs and dampers, but may even be slightly better, but the car will be much firmer when cornering and braking, and it seems that it causes the car to gently drift rather than understeer - although understeer hasnt been too much of a problem for me since I got rid of the Michelins.

Can't say whether the Koni/Eibach set up is the best, but can tell you it (a) massively improves the handling (virtually eliminates roll in corners) and (B) gets rid of nose diving under braking and pitch under acceleration). But the pay off is a considerably firmer ride - some of which you can adjust out by firming up the Konis. This thread will help with info on the Eibachs:

The springs are not progressive but linear by the way. There is no increase in noise which in the vRS is almost entirely due to tyres. As the total drop in ride height over normal Fabias is -40mm (-15mm standard vRS plus -25mm from the Eibachs), I went for Koni Sport Short dampers which are 30mm shorter than the normal Sports and protect against the damper rods bottoming or loosening springs on full stretch.

Thanks for the replies, I wish they were progressive, then i'd buy em' tomorrow :)

Not sure I could live with a harsh ride.
