Like that. Wheels look good and red suits it - good choice

Needs to be lower though, but I know that's been discussed at some length! With some Eibachs on I think it would look vastly improved

Cheers,

Steve

Wishing i had kept my order for a race blue one rather than cancelling it now!

Wishing i had kept my order for a race blue one rather than cancelling it now!

Why do you say that? I think there are too many race blues out there anyway now......at one time it was the only colour I wanted, but I eventually went off it!

I did go into the dealership the weekend after the vRS was launched and order a race blue estate but then the build time kept going back and back and back so I cancelled it and brought the little TSi i have now instead as it was sat in the showroom and I could take it away the next week.

Ah well, already got most of the vRS parts on order for my car to make it a vRS lookalike (already has the wheels in the colour i had ordered to come with my estate)

Very nice! :) What interior has it got? Red or Grey?

I love those wheels!

vRS estate is really cool, the idea of a fast estate car is great, the idea of a fast estate Skoda is even better.

There is something I love about overtaking kids in Saxos in a Skoda, I call it Skodataken.

lol, get a little sticker made for the rear windo that says "You`ve been Sokda`d"

When word get round about this Tsi engine, we`ll be getting challenged by every bone head in a souped up peugeot....:rofl:

Yes deffo think we need a rear window sticker

I don't know if it's the angle of the pictures, or the gap in the arches, but the wheels look a little small to me.

Car looks good though !

When I looked at one in the local showroom the wheels actually looked too wide. They stuck out noticably more than the tyres, making them easy to damage by a silly mistake near a kerb.

I'd still have a VRS Estate like a shot though, if they were no so much more expensive than a normal Fabia on the VAT free deal.

they are 205 wide on 7inch wide wheels, the same width tyres as 6.5" wide 16" wheels on other models.. 215 is a better fit but some people like the stretched look.

It's the 4x4 driver in me... all my cars have tyres that are wider than the rim, so it's practically impossible to damage the alloy. Five years on and they look like new. :)

If you want to see what they look like or a "normal" variant, I have the white versions on mine, posted some pics up on my thread. Noticed that my car seems to sit lower overs its wheels than the vRS hatch. Dunno why!

Really gr8 photos EvilcB - nice one!

Some photos of the front and rear seats would be good?

Have you used the MDI and the Bluetooth yet - if so which phone and MP3 player do you use and how well do they work, particularly in respect of accessing the phone book entries?

Cheers and enjoy your new car - I'm envious and hope mine arrives before December, though somehow can't see this happening! Andy

On connectivity, at supplying dealers my Blackberry wouldn’t connect over bluetooth, better halfs Iphone linked straight up and synched phonebook. Dealer stated it wouldn’t work with a Blackberry which I was a bit miffed about. However, manually selecting a connection worked eventually with the Blackberry, and after several hours connected, it synched the phonebook also! Only one phone will connect at a time, last one connected is the first searched for, then it looks for others. Works well in practice. The phonebook appears in the instrument display and you can scroll through via the stalk and dial a number, it also displays the calling number or name if its in your phonebook. You can stream audio into the stereo assuming your phone is capable of this.

If you MDI connect the Iphone whilst its bluetoothed, it loses the bluetooth connection, and works as an Ipod only. Its marginally better for music than streaming over Bluetooth as the hardwired connection lets the Swing stereo access the ID3 tags so you have track/artist/folder info, but its not good losing the phone system, so we don’t bother with this cable unless we need Iphone charging and are using the 12v power socket for the (neccessary) radar detector!.

So at the moment I am using the MDI-USB lead to connect my 16gb Walkman. I can leave it plugged in, when the ignition is on it connects and charges the walkman, when the ignitions off the walkman goes to sleep. This gives you Artist/Folder search/scan and all track info, and tracks restart from where they left off last time you were in the car. It works well. I have read you can use a usb hard-drive but have yet to try this.

Incidentally the Swing stereo lets you set the ON volume/Phone volume/Speed related volume increase and, if you have reversing sensors, the reversing volume so you can hear the reverse sensors!

Is voice activation available? My Parrot bluetooth CK3100 allows this, although road noise can block it out. Where is the microphone located?

Many thanks indeed for this Latte - most informative indeed!

Cheers

Andy

That looks awesome and imo looks better than the hatch. Perfect for my kayak.

Many thanks for those pictures. It's a really nice looking Fabia. Yes that colour suits it too and nice wheels!

oh i do like the Combi now! never used to like the New Fabia, defo never liked the Combi now this....... it is a work of art!

Nice buy! bet she flys!

Hi Mike, yes voice activation is part of my telephony package.

Long press on the steering wheel button calls her up for you. Theres a bong and she announces “main menuâ€. From here you can dial a number by saying the digits out loud, or easier ask her to dial.

If like me you have a contact in your phonebook called Pavement Pizza just say “dial pavement pizzaâ€, she will ask “do you want to dial pavement pizza?†to confirm, say “yes†and shes dialling. Easy.

Some of the pronunciation is interesting when shes saying the contact name.

The microphone I think is up by the interior lights but I’m not sure, the manual states its directed toward the driver, and advises speaking louder at speed.

HI Latte again!

Page 104 of the owners manual in the Communication section refers as follows:

Inserting the mobile phone with the adapter*

Only one telephone mount* is factory-fitted. An adapter for the telephone can be

purchased from the range of the Škoda original accessories.

Inserting the mobile phone with the adapter

– First of all push the adapter in the direction of arrow fig. 102 up to the stop etc etc

Did your bluetooth come with an adapter, that sticks out of the dashboard to the left of the climate control - most of the Skoda press photos seem to show this.

Cheers Andy

No adapters or such-like in mine.

You dont need to see or operate your phone handset in use so it stays in my pocket, but it would be nice to charge.

Hmmm. A call to my dealer might need to happen here!
