It varies. But average is between 45-50MPG.

Stay off the boost & I've got over 65mpg on a 50 mile run.

On boost in low gears & I got 29mpg, still not too bad.

Last month in the Isle of Man, a tankful was gone in 450 miles (ish), so about 45.45454545454545(!!!)MPG

Not bad considering its running about 180, plus I took advantage of the lack of speed limit over the mountain section several times during the week (on the encouragement of a local copper who was looking over my car!) :p

anyone noticed mpg drop dependent on weather...? ~5-10mpg

Yes, especially on short trips - mainly because it takes the vRS quite a while to warm up, I think.....

Funny enough, I tend to get ~60mpg on average (on the clock), however the wife did a long trip back from Bristol (drives like a daisy... don't tell her I said that) and I couldn't believe what it said on the clock.. 75mpg. It's only happened once ;)

Phil.

I have a fairly heavy foot.....

Combined I get pretty much bang on 30mpg.

Motorway journeys up to 45mpg.

Urban is nearer 25mpg :o .....anyone else get this low?

Hia mate,,,, was this in a 1.6 tdci zetec s ????

Nope, the 99-02 one. 1.6 petrol.

yeh thats it.

Another factor is tyre pressures which most people probably check every 2-3months

During the winter the pressure drops 1psi for a decrease of 8 degrees and this means about a half percent drop in fuel economy for every 1psi lost.

Then you've also got the colder oil temps which means more energy is needed to warm it up, move it around. You'll be using your demister and heating controls more during winter=more fuel.
