540 miles left to go

Featured Replies

I doubt you will ever see 700 miles as the tank is like an upside down triangle (fat at the top and thin at the bottom). I regulary see 100+ miles without the needle moving off the full.

yes but 540+145 = 685 at 53.3 mpg :) so at 57mpg its 732 miles you would expect :)

pah mine seems to be ok tells just about the truth sometimes :) it did have aprox 55 litres of fuel in the tank tho

Thats quite an achievement for a car with a 45 litre fuel tank ;)

well it was clicking saying full after 36 litres were put into it but i carried on till 45 had been put in :) so who knows but i didnt have wet feet and the car did feel very very heavy when pulling away after that

Does anyone know if the trip computer knows about the expansion tank? Ie will it predict a mileage for 55 litres of fuel, or will it just predict for 45 litres and not change because the level in the main tank has not gone down?

i really have no idea :( would be interesting how it measures it

Chris I believe the trip computer doesn't take the full expansion tank into account as it is very possible to get to zero miles. However this is debateable as some say the expansion tank begins when the needle on the fuel gauge hits red, in whihc case it does take it into account! BTW I also though the Fabia only had a 5 litre expansion tank?

Personally I've always been disappointed that the average MPG won't go into 3 figures..... ;)
