Scraped underside

Featured Replies

Yesterday I was driving down a private, badly surfaced road. The front wheels went into a deep rut, and there was a nasty crunch sound from the underside of the car.

Everything's running fine, but I had a look under the driver's side of the car and I've noticed there are some coloured tubes exposed. I don't remember these tubes being exposed, and most of the other stuff under the car has trim fastened over it.

Could someone please check if their Octy vRS has trim where mine doesn't?

Can you take a pic?. Proberbly the brake pipes, if I remember they are exposed on mine to.

Take a good look at the sump, if it's taken a scrape it may have cracked higher up - it's *very* soft.

Might it just have been the sills/underbody of the car as opposed to the sump/engine area?

My old Octy also had half exposed brake lines too.

I'm not liking the sound of this. The car certainly isn't dropping any fluids, but I think I'll take a closer look! Thanks for the advice everyone.
