skoda have added 3 months to my order! Update Page 2

Featured Replies

Not long spoken to the dealer about my company vRS - it was down as provisional build week 43 (last week in October), ordered 10th August. So it should have been here late November.

The dealer says the system now says build week three so delivery some time in feb!

WHAT?!?

How can they add three months to a sodding order???????

The dealer is waiting for a response from Skoda but I can't forsee much more than a 'we are really busy' excuse. It will certainly be cancelled if that's the case and I will find something else.

Did you get the VAT free deal? If so, are they still going to honour it? We're thinking about a new Octy because of the deal being on until the end of December, but if we haven't got a hope of actually having the car delivered by then, we'll probably look at something else...

I didn't ask but I thought were honouring it if the car is ordered before a certain date?

they will honour the vat free and the 2.5% increase only if you order before 30th september 2010 (god knows when it will turn up though)

sorry to hear of your delay zimmerman. if theyve not got their figures wrong then adding 3 months on to an already long order is shocking :(

Yep apparently their offer has been "so successful" that they just can't meet demand. Or some such nonsense.

I ordered mine on 24th May. Expected delivery was late August / Early September. We actually agreed to hold it to first week of Sept to get the new plate.

I now have a provisional build week in November and expected delivery late Nov / Early December.

So far I have (1) a guarantee to hold the price for my trade in (2) £150 voucher against future servicing (which I won't use) (3) £300 off.

However, yesterday the ECU on my 4 year old VRS failed. The one I'm trading in. I'll be interested to see how that affects the trade in price.......

So there is now a 6 month waiting list?! Glad i ordered mine at the end of Jan just before the vat free offer was meant to end! I only had to wait 10 weeks!

Welcome

My Superb was ordered 29th June and the latest is it will be arriving early/mid November........

have you agreed all 3 items, or just 1 of the 3? if all 3 then why would you not use the service voucher?

I've accepted all 3 offers.

I don't generally get work done at the main dealers - Nationwide in Canterbury are very very good. And Volksline handle the tough stuff. Both of them cost less ;)

Fair point, but it would be worth getting a quote for the 1st service to see if the £150 off brings them in under the rest ......... if not i'll pick the 'voucher' up from you :giggle::rofl:

Well I would hope that a service is less than £150 for what is basically an oil change :o

I will have the 150 Voucher it can go towards the 1st service , as mine looks like it will arrive just before the 16 week payout cuts in---- he says with doleful eyes looking for sympathy emoticon-0140-rofl.gifemoticon-0140-rofl.gifemoticon-0140-rofl.gif.

Delays are due to demand, SUK confirmed this when I spoke to them last Monday 21 sept, while asking if my build week had been moved for a 3rd time ( PHEW , it hadnt)

Thing is, how can they give a build week and then casually add 12 weeks onto it? Is there a problem sourcing certain parts or has my order been bumped to the back of the queue?

I've had a look and the nearly new prices are ridiculous so it looks like I might have to find something else. Seven months is far too long for a run of the mill skoda!

Am I entitled to get the deposit back? The order laughably states 10weeks so do I have a case to ask for the deposit back?

You wont get any sympathy here.... 16 weeks I wish emoticon-0120-doh.gif

Oh and get to the back of the que I asked first!! emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Sounds as if i was lucky with my order then , it was ordered 17th May (dealers preordered model, ordered 4 weeks before) arrived in my hands 3rd september.

Unfortunately rear-ended by Nissan Navara double cab , long wheelbase on 7th September, presently in paint shop after 10 days in body shop, should get it back Monday/Tuesday.

Interesting question. I'm not sure. But I know that if I canceled my order I'd make sure I got it back ;)

I think that you can insist that a company delivers on an overdue order "within a reasonable time" or it becomes void. I.e. you could write to them and say "deliver in 14 days or it's all over". But I'm not a lawyer....

In all honesty they will give you your deposit back. If there is now a 7month waiting list they will have 'your' car which they can sell off as a dealer pre-order and they don't loose anything then.

Order placed week 23 Octavia VRS CR DSG hatch Race Blue with extras.

My build date went from wk 44 to wk 38 then wk41 / 42 to wk 43, wk 44 wk 45 wk 48 now wk 50

loan car option fron week 41, as I have px but forego up to £ 300 compensation. Px price held but did not know about 1st service offer

Julie at Skoda UK Customer Service will now be keeping me posted. Wonder who holds the current Octavia record for longest wait from order to delivery?

Yeah...my vRS 2.0TSFI manual in race blue was ordered on the 23rd August and now the dealer said it should be with me in December which is 4 weeks later than originally thought

Ordered Elegance 1.6 Dsg Est beginning aug told build week 42, now been informed build week 11 !!!!!!! is this a record

There was a major flood in CZ which has affected the supplies to the factory of some components. There are delays across the board, and not just Skoda, I rhink most VAG marques are affected.

I ordered my vRS Hatch Petrol (Manual) on 4th July, received an email from my dealer today confirming it's been built and will be in the UK on 15 Oct - I should then get it by the end of this month

Does anyone know how long the sea voyage is from Emden to Grimsby? (assuming I have got this shipping route right). If it is expected in the UK on the 15th, is the ship already at sea or likely to be docked at Emden, still?

Once it's at Emden, you should have the car in 2 - 3 weeks.

The waiting times are utterly potty, all over the place. (the two examples in this thread are petrols that have been sorted quickly - is there a problem sourcing the diesel engines?)

As an update, the dealer are waiting a response from Skoda as to wether the date is correct and why. I have made it clear that I will cancel if this is the case. I'm looking around to see what else tickles my fancy now....

My order is diesel and have a pretty much identical waiting time to yourself, ordered the car just over a week after you and have been assigned build week 4.

Maybe like you say there is a problem with the supply of diesel units.

I actually had another look round and even test drove some likely candidates. Couldn't find anything else that compared for anything like the money. I think they know this :(

For the record I'm waiting for a diesel DSG - apparently these will be the longest wait (but it's only a dealer telling me that).
