vRS on Autotrader...

300 miles!!!!! someone really didnt like their new furby :wonder:

The owner may have lost their job and can't afford to run it.

I suspect it belonged to a dealer and they can't shift it cos it's the worse colour to have!

Worst colour? - think red with the black roof looks quite smart to be honest.

Looks like a good buy to me :)

Does it belong to anyone on here? If so, any chance of a Briskoda mate's rate?

The red's not too bad. It seems to tie in nicely with the red brake calipers.

It's a bit on the expensive side is it not. When I was thinking of a new VRS I'd managed to get a £1000 discount of the price and that was before I really started to haggle. Never found out how much I could have got off as decided to buy the 06 plate VRS they had instead :giggle: and wait to see if they manage to squash the 2.0 CRtdi engine it as Seat have with the Ibiza :mmm:

Since it's £200 under list and has around £1300 of extras fitted it's about £1500 under new price...

I don't think it's a dealer car as no dealer would bother blanking out the plate.

I imagine it will have been sold to someone and they wheren't expecting it to have so much power or something. Happens fairly often.

I get people coming in with 15 year old Primeras wanting a 1.8TSi Octavia as the 1.4TSi 'won't have enough power' and they often comment on how they think the 1.8TSi might be a bit overkill.

The only thing that points to a dealer car is the 6 months tax. We very rarely tax demos for 12 months just 6.

But it's second hand and drops in value as soon as it's driven off the forecourt.

Yes - by £1,500 in this case...

Not much of an advert for the new "must have" Fabia...

Almost as bad as the feature recently on 5th gear....

It's definitely worth £13500.

A cars value isn't detirmined by if it's been driven off the forecourt or not. It is worth whatever someone in willing to pay for it.

In my opinion that value is about right, you save a chunk on the new car price and you haven't got to wait 5 months to get it.

Look at it another way, you could save £1500 off list for this one and get it straight away and its almost new with just 300 miles. Or, order a new one new and wait until well into the new year and pay almost the same price. If it were me, and its a genuine reason for sale I would buy this.

The seller may have the car on finance, and the price maybe reflecting the cost to settle it, especially if they have just been made redundant.

If someone pays list price for a car that doesn't mean it's worth the price. Get real.

well to me my car is worth more than the dealers value it at. how come they value it the same as a normal one without all the extra's.

Excellent insight.

Of course your car is worth to yourself or anyone in the public, as people in the trade are buying the cars to make money out of.

Thanks James - anytime.

At the end of the day any car is worth what you'll pay. Dealers have to make money to survive and at any given time some may offer you a better deal than others. You pay for the convenience of being able to drive in with your car and drive away in its replacement and usually with some peace of mind from a warranty. Save a few quid on the deal and sell your own, always the chance it'll be an idiot that buys it and will be on your doorstep when something goes wrong or they break something. Buy private, always the risk you'll be sold a problem car with little to no comeback. It can all be as good or as bad an experience as you want to make buying and selling your car but like it or not its's something we all do.

I usually come away feeling it isn't a bad deal but I'd have been happy with a bit more :giggle:
