Blowers

Featured Replies

Issue currently with the blowers in my car. They don't appear to be very powerful. Lots of noise comping from the interior filter but it appears to be working...is it a case or refitting this filter or what? It took ages to clear the windscreen this morning. Virtually no oomph when it comes to the blowers on the windscreen.

I'd start by changing the pollen filter yes.

Have a look in here Phil. This may also be the problem....

The extra noise may be because the pollen filter lid is bypassing air into

the passenger footwell. If you have bad condensation you may also have

the good old leaky doors issue too.

Are your carpets wet when you push down on them?

Had same prob with mine. Take out pollen filter under glove box & clean/renew. You'll probably find a lot of dried broken up leaves & insects will drop to your floor mats ;) After that full power should resume.

Sounds like a similar problem I'm having. Can anyone tell me how to remove the pollen filter so I can give it a good clean? Would any recommend cleaning it out with a vacuum?

Under the glove box right hand side there's a rectangular fascia you have to unclip... Never mind wait a minute I'll get photo's up now. I'll be back.

Sorted. Pic of glove box. Get your head under there and look up

Undo or slide those 2 clips - pull filter down along with all the **** stuck up there & clean.

After you pull out the pollen filter.

And clear up the mess in the footwell :D

I can't see why a good suck out would hurt anything.

Most of what's in there will drop out when you remove the lid

as per fabias pics above. The rest will follow when you pull out the

filter.

Oh, and if the filter is damp don't panic that's quite possible

with all the condensation you're bound to have in the venting pipework.

If that's the case I'd allow it to dry on a radiator indoors overnight before I

attacked a wet paper filter with me Hoover. You'd most likely just suck a hole

through it. if you didn't let it dry first.

For what they cost, why not just replace it?

Thanks for the guide Fabia. Pulled the filter out and loads of dead leaves and twigs fell out. Filter is beyond hoovering - grey, dusty and lots of little bits deep in it. eurocarparts do them for £7.50 or so, so i'll buy a new one soon.

Thanks.
