I'll break it probably as I will be worth nothing with a goosed turbo. Or leave it in the garage till I can afford to fix it.

I thought if the turbo had gone there would be some sort of smoke out the exhaust

Not necessarily, has the turbo got louder recently? Mine did but I didn't see any smoke just using loads of oil and a loud turbo

I could never hear it spool in the car, only when I had the window open, but I could always seem too hear it dump inside the car on gear changes.

The turbo will be fine, replace the oil pick up ( don't just clean it!!)

New oil and filter.

Yeah will defo be replacing the pick up pipe, how long should I run the flush and cheap oil till it's clean too change too the proper stuff. Sorry about all the questions just want to make sure it's done right

Read the manual on the flush I guess. I think stage 1 though was to replace the pickup pipe?

I've rang up to order the bits today at a local Vag parts place, and the guy advised me I would be better changing the oil pump also as these also block and also while I have it apart too which does make sense. Also he said that when he went to flush his (passat with 1.8t) he was told not too use flush, but too just run it with a semi synth for 500-600 miles, then change it too fully. Then oil change every 5k which I was going to do anyway.

dont bother buying a non gen turbo if its goosed, one from the dealers is only £547+vat so no point. we sell loads of oil pick up pipes seem to be a fairly common thing

I got all the bits today,

Oil x2 (1 cheaper for flushing)

2x oil filter,

Pick up pipe,

Sump sealent,

Sump plug and seal, air filter

And ordered my Vehicle Speed sensor so got too collect that tomorrow too.

Came too £90 so not too bad I thought. Got this this through TPS Liverpool.

And gave the grill a whack over with some paint, and washed it (after pic was taken)

Completely off topic, but how much has your car been lowered? Sits real nice, that's how I want mine to look when I drop it.

Hey that place looks decent. Do I need some form of trade card though or is it open to the public? Cheaper than a dealer?

TPS is open to the public and the prices are pretty good. i've had a few bits from them down here and they've been cheaper than the dealer

I'm not sure what the drop is but they will be for sale in the next couple of weeks as I will be going to coilovers as soon as the car is up and running again.
