Fabia vRS alloys (17") what to use ?

Featured Replies

I am just wondering, as like others I am tempted by the Octavia 17" spiders to replace my standard 16's but they seem quite hard to come by

(if I could get any in pretty naff condition provided they don't actually come buckled or repaired, I could live with that and refurb them)

I am in no rush so prepared to wait it out.

However even that is looking unlikely

I know they have to be 5x100 PCD, 7.5, 17" and also a concern if they actually come with tyres. But I want as OEM as possible, do not like non OEM alloys as I am sure the quality may be non-comparable to the standard ones and they stand out too much.

Giving how the spiders come and go either on ebay or here, would it be worth considering alternatives? Just wondered what suitable alternatives others were thinking of, or is it just a case of check ebay on that size.

Also anyone know what is the spec of the new vRS alloys, just I imagine they might start to become visible as people mod their cars.

Cheers

Check out the Fabia alloy archive thread for ideas but I think anything off an Audi TT or S3 can look pretty cool even if a little done by now. But cheap enough that you can afford a refurb, I picked my set of S3 Avus wheels for 70quid.

Ive just fitted Audi TT competition 17's in anthracite to my vRS. They look good IMHO. There were a few sets on Ebay a while back for reasonable money.

There are some pictures of TT comps in the Fabia alloys archive (though not of mine).

Oh and my origional vRS alloys are currently being refurbed by City Powder Coaters in Birmingham (only £20 per wheel!!). I'll report back on whether or not they are any good in due course!
