Really don't know what to do with it.....

Featured Replies

Well I've had my vRS now for over 2 months, its been a rocky start with running issues which resulted in lots of parts replacing until the problem was found (luckily I wasn't paying the bill lol) its finally driving nicely and now I can't decide what to do with it.

Now I don't know whether to change the wheels to 18's or keep and refurb what I've got and just lower it to reduce the arch gap.

My old car I was always modifying but this one I'm rather happy with it in standard guise which is probably why I'm having trouble deciding as I want to improve rather than make worse.

Heres how it is at the moment. It has a couple of lil dings and marks etc but I plan on sorting them out over time.

Any ideas?

It'll never stay standard, I can never quite manage that, my old car was supposed to stay standard and modified everything inside and out lol.

Spend some more cash where it counts - remap, suspension, brakes...

Also you could get the black bump strip things coulour coded with your car, looks so much better i recently got this done just gives the car a more modern look, its just my opninon though mate.

Screw being sensible !

Get those vRS alloys off the car - decent set of 18" does the trick

I'll even help you along by buying those vRS wheels off you ;)

(need some smaller alloys for winter tyres :giggle:)

Get some decent front and rear ARB and some coilovers, then the car will be able to go round corners in moderately OK way.

ps

follow that up with some decent brakes too

standard VAG brakes are dogs-doings

Porsche brakes they look sexy

I think that the vRS is a great looking car as standard. I love the subtle look but if i had the time, patience and cash was no object I would go for a rally road look or a touring car look. Like whats been done to this fabia. No graphics just the body kit. Carscoop_BriskFabia_11.jpg

Probably with some compomotive wheels like this KEIRPHONEPICS023.jpg

If time and money is an issue, keep it as it is with some subtle mods.

should look smart whilst retaining oem look

OEM is the sort of look I'm wanting to do, just trying to decide on what sort of finish to do the wheels and will sort out centres so they have the right logo on them :D

looking good mate keep as it is looks the same as mine the wheels look good and i dont think 18s ride that nice to be honest

Keep the wheels..... get some colies on her... carbonio induction, kit forge DV, decent exhaust(blueflame is my choice|) front mount intercooler then get her remapped and you'll be flying then if you get the bug start looking at a hybrid turbo etc

I'm not too fussed about the ride as my old car had 19's with a Bilstein B12 kit and tbh the ride wasn't bad with that, looking to go for progressive coilovers when money allows as I'm impressed wth the ones my mate has on his S4.

Looks to me like someone has fitted standard springs instead of VRS springs at some point. (Common mistake) Gap looks way to big to me.

blue flame getting a lot of bad press after going bust and re appearing again leaving people out of pocket and with no exhaust so i'd avoid them.

milltek is my prefered choice (i've got one :giggle: ) but others rate the piper system too

I was tempted to do that with mine but couldn't say no to the 18's when they came up, just got to decide what to do with my old spiders now.
