can't decide on how much to lower my vrs?

Featured Replies

i want to keep the 16" vrs alloys on with 205 45 tyre, but want better handling. whats the best to lower it by? any suggestions thanks

All the way. Obviously.

To the floor.

Many reports on this, but all boils down that the Fabia has a high-point centre of gravity, (so is top heavy).

ARB's, wheel spacers and stiffer suspension all in the effort to overcome the basic characteristics and trait of car.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Buy a mini and overcome the problem overnight. LOL

by how much depends on many variables as in do you live down a lane with potholes or in a area with HUGE central speed bumps etc..... if not then coilovers emoticon-0103-cool.gif

If you do have to live with either of the above then, eibach springs emoticon-0136-giggle.gif ......emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Sound advice right there

In the right hands a fabia on coilovers could be pretty quick. If you just want a bit of a improvement handling wise, and not bothered about looks, the just springs are rated quite well by lots on here. However, if your after a nice drop too, then your best of getting coilovers, they done have to be lowered to the floor

This is mine, lowered an inch:

One thing to be aware of is that even this low, the one-way flap things in my works car park bang off the undertray. Obviously, taking the undertray off will give you an inch or so more clearance, but British roads being what they are, I'd advise against going too far!!!

Although it will look the dogs *******s with the coilovers wound right down it will eventually scrub the inside of your tyres off due to the camber, maybe not so much with standard wheels but something like 17s it certainly will !

Mine has a 25mm drop & still looks a bit high IMO.

Ride quality is great though.

Me and a mate actually found it to be worse with 16`s on than 17`s.

What's peoples thoughts on fitting shorter lower link arms when really lowering the car?

depends on what kit you fit, some need them, some dont

coilovers, on its a*se :) FTW mines on on weitecs, all the way down on the back and 7 threads of the bottom on the front and looks good imo, quite low but driveable, can still live with going over speed bumps too, and thats with a cupra splitter too

As mentioned, the Weitec Hicon GTs are a great option and then just play with the height until you get it looking how you want.
